There is a place near me that will supply and fit this VMAXX kit for £299 + £100 + VAT.

Good deal or not?

I think its pretty good!

Gwent Audi and VW centre.

Thats about average. you are looking at about £300 for the kit, £40 or so for the drop links and about £140 for fitting so I reckon they are being pretty fair.

People like Gwent VW and Midland VW who I use have very good recommendations within the VW scene. Gwent VW advertise massively at shows and across forums. I cannot see them putting their names as approved retailers/fitters of sub standard kits. If the kits were so bad and they were fitting them all they would achieve is people like me and ulta joel coming back in 3 months time or less saying "you fitted **** coilovers, I want them off my car and another set putting back on but I am not paying for them", plus a serious amount of grief on forums and in magazines. For them it isnt worth it.

Initial thoughts are that these are an excellent bit of kit. I drive some seriously ****ty roads to work giant pot holes uneven surfaces and farm roads. Since having this kit fitted which according to my VAG specialist of over 20 years experience was one of the best kits he had seen on the market at this price, the ride of the vRS has improved no end. Gone is the spongey ride feel that the car previously had without coilovers and the 17s. Now I have a car that hugs corners and bends that from sitting so much lower down rally does have some grip. The ride is firmer not harsh or jaw shattering, rattles and bumps are non existent. I am very impressed for the money I paid.

If you want to go and pay £500 for an altnerative set of coilovers then thats your choice personally I would give vMaxx in Northampton a ring speak to them about their product and they will give you feedback. More and more of the big tuning boys are stocking this product as it is now getting the recognition in the UK that it has in Europe and the US.

comments from guys such as this "...there awesome coils except for the non dampning adjustability", "My friend has the V-Maxx coilovers on his E36 sedan. They ride great. The ride is firm, but not harsh. Something that can definitely be used for daily driving." "I have them and they are pretty decent, I'd say they are worth the money. not quite as comfortable as my previous SHS setup, the rear doesn't go SUPER low but its pretty dumped if you don't use the adjustment perch... I've got the car pretty low, almost too low for me, it looks great but unfortunatly the the oil pan and other suspension componets are what is the lowest part of the car rather than the body pieces, so I scrape the underside of the car all the time"

One guy is quoted as follows:

Looking for a great, inexpensive way to get your car on the ground? While VMaxx coilovers are new to the market, they have shown us that you don't need to break the bank to create a great looking car that handles like a go-kart as well.

- The best value on the market without question.

- Fully adjustable ride height that you need.

- Full 2-year manufacturers warranty back by V-Maxx and Intensity Motorsports.

- TUV tested and approved products.

- Kits that are balanced between sports car requirements and daily driver needs.

- Custom struts matched to springs and ready for full height ranges.

- Sway bar extension kits available for those lowering over 40mm.

- Keep the money you saved with V-Maxx in your pocket or better yet you just doubled your mod budget with the savings.

Some guys rate these as highly as the H&R set ups some hate them it really is a personal choice thing.

As I get used to them more I will put more stuff up but for now they have a big thumbs up from me

I am running Avo coilovers with Mondeo drop links, got the drop links from Andrew Page.

Sump guard are very useful, mine has been battered!!

Unfortunatly im on the works PC and can not see the pics of your cars, will have a look when I get home. Sounds like they are looking very nice indeed.
