New octy VRS what colour???

Featured Replies

I agree with red as a fairly unique and attractive colour. Mine's silver, which as mentioned before looks clean-ish even when dirty, also freaks people out on the M-way if you drive at legal speeds or have a hi-vis jacket in the car.

Hatch or Estate

I know blue is becoming really common, but imho the hatchback looks great in it.

sorry its going to be a Hatch

I noticed some strange driving around me when I went to Goodwood with me brother. The back end was sitting it bit lower due to luggage in the boot, 2 men in the front and an aerial for the small tv we took on the parcel shelf. People wold zoom up then slow down to look, then zoom off again. Very funny.

Me think i might be investing in a good bucket and sponge

thanks again for all of the input, been browsing this forum for a while and some great advice is coming from it, great work and thanks.

John

Whatever you do, buy two buckets and DO NOT buy a sponge!!!

just picked up my 08 octy vrs on sat 1st of march.

ordered it in what i consider the only colour to have.

blue !

it will take a bit of looking after and does attract its fairshare of unwanted attention but its the BIZ!

IMO - depends on how long you keep the car as well as when you sell it they say colour affects price. For my two penn'orth worth;

Red - prone to fading and plastics always hard to colour match. Do like red cars though in general

Black - Easy to touch up and always looks classy especially with privacy glass and if you have fancy wheels. Never found black any harder to keep clean than any other colour myself - I always rinse my cars down with a hose and then immediately run it round the block to ensure no water marks left on it:D

Blue - personally like it but the colour choice of all 'sporty' cars it seems

White - is the new colour and I often had it when not fashionable, will soon be as common as muck - cars always give you the benefit of the doubt though as you appear in their rear-view mirror:)

Silver - has to be the colour to have, classless, a 'safe' colour as well and lends that bit of Q-car anonymity we usually want when we get to a certain age/maturity/job level/kids, etc. point in life:O

I'm really not sure this is the case now with modern paints... certainly hope not anyway!!!

have i said white already :D:D

Thats the very same reason why the missis wants to get one..

only 3 or 4 times.

I'd like to think I'd be brave and get a white one next maybe?

Never again black though.

hum me think i will get a black one, being the first car that im going to buy im sure that i wont regret it, but if i do i have many years in front of me, maybe a yellow one  ( don't think im that brave)

If I were to buy another new car it would be RED.

Me likes a red car.

don't go council estate red,it just proves you are too tight to pay for metalic;)

only 3 or 4 times.

don't get the mood on because you've got black and you want white!

Errr, have you seen Roos signature?? :P

Council estate red?? Thats a bit harsh!!!

only a very silly person would get a white car :P

Errr, have you seen Roos signature?? :P

:shhh:

White! :D

From the vRS Register thread I used to tally up numbers by colour and type (TFSI or TDI); here are the stats (with my opinion) from my last update;-

There are now 270 declared vRS owners. The colour choice is -

Blue - 141

Black - 75

Silver - 30

Red - 16

White - 3

Yellow - 5

Total - 270

Do you want to be a 'sheep' or an individual?

Personally get RED - blue and black are too common.

There has also been a similar thread on this topic recently that can be found here;-

I hope that all helps.

Meh meh meh

Oh no! not this question again!

Silver is the way forward - trust me, it's so unfashionable at the moment that next year it'll be all the rage! :D

I agree. White came and went. Blue and yellow too flashy. Black booooring (tired of my own). Silver subtle - wild animal in disguise - only the knowing can tell its a vRS...

:D Very sneaky Roo... hope you enjoy it

Don't know what you're on about ;)

Still can't believe I am the only Silver TFSI Estate owner on here... you'd have though that a Silver VAG Estate would be as common as a Pete Doherty hang-over

Yellow :D

Still wish I'd got my act together quicker and landed the Yellow Estate (incl. pimp tints) that was aviliable at the time I was after one :(
