Best 312mm pads

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm needing to get some new 312mm pads and was wondering what you all recomend. I'm not looking to do any track days but just want something that is reasonably cheap but still effective.

Cheers

If you can still get them, Mintex Extreme will provide you with the best pads for the money by far.

About £40 - £45 a set. Look for TT/Octy VRS fitting.

I will be running OMP Road & Sport pads with oem discs when I get my 312s fitted. You'll get a repport when done. Hope it's happening soon, though... :)

avoid anything with green and stuff on them, they are rubbish :D

as said mintex extreme are good. i am running oem now and they are very good indeed :D

Mintex 1144's

cracking pads

DS2500 , just damned expensive , even secondhand

I agree, had mine on a week now and they are very good,if you don't track it tho,the oem 312 pads are just fine for road use

ds2500's if you can run to them.

Currently on mintex extreme and they are not a match for them...hope they wear out soon :)

But if just road driving then they are better than most; certainly an improvement :)

my OEM pads where excellent on normal road use , just didn't take to kindly to the Ring or Spa ,

Get some 'yellow stuff' pads. I had them on my Mini.

Worked a treat i reckon.

Just had a look and Mintex extreme's are £65 at Jabba....any ideas where I can get these cheaper - not having much luck so far!

Another vote for the extremes. I dont use them, but my mate does on his Fiesta ST

Yikes.

I paid £42 for mine from Motorsport World - Performance Car Parts

Give them a ring to see if they can still get them.

If not your going to only get OEM's cheaper. You can't have the moon on a stick, well you can but you need to pay for it.

Try GSF. I think they stock the Xtremes. Worth a check anyway.

I just had a quick scan of MSW but couldn't find the Xtremes listed, for the Octy vRS anyway....

Are we talking about the same pads here?

I got the following from the MSW website :

Mintex M1144 Pads - Front

Octavia 1.8 Turbo 20V ; 01/97>

Price: £93.53 inc VAT

Delivery: £7.50

Ouch - Someone please tell me I made a mistake!

Yep the 1144's are different to the Mintex Extremes :D

No the site now only lists the 1144's and they are much different. This is why I suggested a call to them.

Oops - the link for Extremes seems to go straight to the 1144 / 1155 page. I need to change my spectacles; thanks.

cough # 1144 # cough

If you read the first post, I wouldn't consider £93 to be "reasonably cheap but still effective", would you? You may think they're good, but they're not suitable in this case.

:)

Got Mintex Extremes Octy vRS/TT front pads for £70 delivered.....can't say much fairer than that!

Can only comment on DS2000 & DS2500.

2000's good for fast road use but fade on track or a really good drive.

2500 cant fault them.

How do 2500's work when they're cold (do they work:D)?
