Well both our cars need new tyres..... Mine needs the fronts replacing and the mrs has just had to have Skoda Assist out cos she's got a flat rear tyre. I've not had any tyre related problems for a few years now and wondered if anybody had any suggestions for good tyre fitting places in the Sheffield area.... Both price wise and service wise.

I have only ever used two for years - Hawleys on Sharrow Vale Road for Vredestiens and On the Spot on Langdale Road off Abbeydale Road.

My son does a tyre fitting service where he comes to you

He works away during week , but then will do tyre fitting on Saturdays

I will PM you his number

I know he has had some really good prices on tyres , and he may come to your door to fit

I've used Event Mobile Tyres - Cheap Car Tyres, 4x4 Tyres & Run Flat Tyres - Mobile Tyre Fitting before - not sure if they cover your area, but they're excellent imho

Dave it depends on what tyres you want but Autodynamics is where i take mine.

Looks a bit bling and the they have two new pikey looking fitters but they are always good for me.

I'll second both APTyres and Hawleys, although I used Hawleys depot in Halfway. Used both of them when I had my 206, AP for the tyres (cheapest for F1 GSDs at the time) and Hawleys for a s/s exhaust.

There's another vote here for Autodynamics in Sheffield, if you go direct they are usually cheaper than using them through blackcircles, quite a few work collegues use this place.

I use Penistone Tyre Services and have started using Kumhos as that is what he tends to specialise in and he's cheaper than Autodynamics, guess it because he will have less overheads.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys...... Got it sorted today. Ended up going to AP Tyres in Rotherham as it's as far away as any other with me being in Chapeltown. I'd got quotes from all the other suggestions and they ranged from £83 through to £96 for the Conti SportContact2. AP quoted £69+vat so went for them though had a sneaky suspicion that they were quoting for a V rated rather than W rated tyre.

Well i was right they did indeed fit a V rated SportContact2 but seeing as i'm not planning on doing more than 149 mph in the car i figure it'll be ok.

All in all it came to just over £100 for the tyre, swapping my still unused spare onto the other front wheel and then putting one of the worn fronts onto the spare, and three lots of wheel balancing.
