vRS Launch with Pipewerx Exhaust

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd have to share this with you.

My exhaust has currently been modified by Ian at Pipewerx to give it a bit more tone, so here is a quick video for anyone wanting to know what a Pipewerx exhaust sounds like on the TFSI.

sounds nice!

That actually sounds bloody good!!!

How about a pic so that we can see what the pipes look like?

It's a scary looking twin exit jobby :D

...............................but it does sound bloomin' good H, better than the Milltek imo but I'm not sure I could live with the drone in the car! :o

Ah yes; I remember seeing pictures of it before.

I'm disappointed that no-one has yet got around to doing an exhaust for the vRS TDI. :( but I'm thinking of just getting the centre silencer box removed and replaced with some straight pipe. This ought to give less back pressure and make is less quiet. Any major downsides that anyone can think of?

Wouldn't someone like Pipewerx be able to do you a custom one?

Harry, that note sounds spot on!

Wouldn't someone like Pipewerx be able to do you a custom one?

They probably would; I have a branch of PowerFlow not far from me in St Albans who did a De-Cat on an Omega I have a few years ago who I'm sure would do a custom system, but I like to be frugal and don't want/need to change the rear box/pipes. So to spend £60 to take a silencer out is better than £350 + for a new system. Isn't it?

Just wanted to know if there was any particular negatives i.e. it will change the back pressure and mess up the turbo or something? Perhaps? or not?

That's a good sounding exhaust, subtly louder and more sporty, but not enough noise to wobble the neighbours windows

Are you sure? Seems pretty vocal to me! :D

Sounds good - couldn't see much though!!

That sounds bloody good mate

Personally i'm not into the whole exaust noise thing, but its looks tidy and well finsihed from the pic

Chris

sounds great, so if i had the silencer removed from my back box what would i expect in terms of noise/power? where would i find someone who would remove it?

I'm not sure on the power benefits as yours is NA. It would probably help a fair bit tho.

sounds awesome, the sound reminds me of a rally car.

How are you lot commenting on the sound?

I can only hear one little raspy parp, and not enough to tell what it sounds like

Rear lights dissapear quickly though ;)

have a listen to jasons before deciding if you want straight through pipes on a diesel,i love the sound, but i suspect it is not for everyone:thumbup:

I remember it being very loud indeed.

The tone wasn't to my liking if I'm honest but if that's your cup of tea then who's to stop you

Similar, if not the same, to what Shifty had on his isn't it?

Think that would suit an estate rather well also..... :rubchin:

It's Shifty's old exhaust that I now own.

The picture is of his car not mine, but they look identical obviously.
