Fabia Mileage and Power increase

Featured Replies

Got to be said I can tell a difference when say I have been driving my car for approx 500miles of just me, compared to the day to day grind of learners. Its smoother and uses less fuel. So somethimg must be adapting somewhere. To back this up when I came back from scotland with me having driven 2000miles ish the fuel ecomany was in the mid 50's now I'm lucky to hit 50 on day to day runs. Likewiss on a L:iverpool run it always gets more mpg on the way back......

And this difference couldn't be to do with driving style?

I agree with Rob (for a change)

on my daily 30mile jaunt round the m60 to work.. in the mornings i get 66mpg

on the way back in the evenings i get 46mpg

i always get better fuel economy in the morning as i drive more economically coz im tired

I also believe that the south part of Manchester is lower than the north part...so when you're heading south you have more downhills than when you're heading north. I always get better economy heading south on that stretch, regardless of time of day...

Slight inclines you won't really notice in a car as you just put the throttle down by and extra half a centimetre...enough to potentially make a significant difference to the fuel economy.
