Eibach springs - alloy bushes supplied??

Featured Replies

Anyone know exactly why there are two alloy bushes supplied with the Eibach spring kit?

Any pics of where they're supposed to fit exactly?

Thanks

Bas

Their was a thread about this ages ago. Cant remember the outcome now but some people got them, some didnt.

Here's what I was told by the Eibach agent here in the UK.

The two collars are supplied for fitting to each end of the steering rack to restrict travel should tyre interference be an issue after fitting of the springs. Biggish job, I'm told.

I did not fit the collars and with 7j x 17" mk1 Octy's on my Fabia vRS I have no issues on full lock.

No doubt there'll be more input on this.

Aye bump stops

Bump stops. Well, I suppose that's one way of describing the collars.

Thought I'd just elaborate though, for those of us who are not too familiar with your definition.

Yip agreed!

Not needed though

I agree - Designed to go on the Steering Rack, never fitted them myself and not had any issues.

Cant find mine so let's hope it isnt needed on the estate either lol

I've got a set in my toolbox I think Weibo.

they are not for a tyre touch issue , they are fitted to the rack to restrict the lock so the steering track arm does not touch the front ARB when on a lock

So in theory - if you don't fit them - you can wear out the front ARB bushes?

(I didnt fit mine btw...)

no , its just that under certain conditions , i.e. full lock , going up an incline , there can be a bit of a touch between the steering track arm and the roll bar, never noticed it occuring on mine , so don't worry about it
