Does this make you a novellist ?

No.

Ian:)

I for one certainly wouldnt call Max Biaggi or Sete Gibernau slow.

Your dead right there.

Also small difference make massive differences at that level. Take Melandri, the Ducati is no doubt a quick bike, Marco is a quick rider, but he's sitting at the back of the grid the last TWO races. He just can't get to grips with it.

Casey is obviously very talented, and makes that bike work for him.

1, I just think that its amusing that every thread you start or get involved in, you make a snide comment regarding Rossi.

2, I cant seem to find any of your posts mentioning Stoner before he started to win races in 2007.

3,Maybe your 'that' kind of person who just supports who's winning at the time?? I bet your a Man utd Supporter right?

Ian:)

Hi Ian

1, That's simply because, whilst recognising Rossi's talent, I really can't stand the rear gunner. I enjoy seeing him get beat and am not really fussed who by, I just enjoy seeing that smug grin being taken off his face.

2, Glad to see that I got you "so bloody annoyed" that you read my previous posts.:)......The reason he never got mentioned is because he wasn't beating Rossi, this doesn't however mean that it's him that I'm supporting any more that numerous other riders. Simply put, he gets a mention because he's beaten Rossi and not because I'm his No1 fan.

3, No not at all, otherwise I'd have been a Rossi fan in the past, which I can assure you I wasn't. I'm not particularly a fan of Stoners, I enjoy all motorcycle racing and have many riders I admire and like to see do well, but in the GP's I just like to see Rossi bought down a peg or two and am not fussed by who. As said before, Edwards is the one I'd really like to see have a win, however this seems unlikely. Now that JT has move to MotoGPs, I'll carry on supporting him as I did in WSBK.

The riders I've been most supportive of over the years are, but not restricted to,

Joey Dunlop

Steve Hislop

Freddie Spencer

Eddie Lawson

Colin Edwards

Troy Bayliss

Haga

Jim Moodie........this list could go on and on, so I'll leave it there.......then there's the Bol D'or/Spa/Le Mans 24 hour specialists......enough!!:)

Oh and no I'm not a Man U fan. However Arsenal are my Rossi team, as in I'll always cheer on the other team regardless of who it is. I'm actually a Celtic fan and have been since as far back as I can remember, probably somewhere between 6-10 years of age and I'm now 46. Have no idea why Celtic, as I grew up in London and am not Scottish, however Celtic does have links to the Irish so maybe there was some influence from my Dad who is Irish. Bad season this one so maybe I'll become a Rangers supporter in the near future:eek::eek:

Cheers

Shame about Colin - good practice and then nowhere in the race.

Yep, seems to be an all too familiar scenario for Edwards:(

Lance

I'd like to see Edwards back in WSBK for 1 more season before he retires. Cant see him doing much in GP's now. :(

I also read that the ESPN channel on Sky are showing the top 10 WSBK races ever!!

Personally the best race i've ever seen was Bayliss/Edwards Title decider:eek::eek:

Ian

Sit down, and then read on.......

I agree on both the Edwards comment and the Bayliss/Edwards comment, yes that's right I agree!!:thumbup:

That Bayliss/Edwards race was very much edge of the seat stuff for me, as I was really wanting Edwards to win. Was is Misano? I know it was in Italy but can't quite remember where:confused:

Another epic race (IMO) was the Hizzy/Foggy F1 race at the 1991 TT, when Honda bought in the RVF's. Hizzy well and truly put Foggy in his pace.........I watched it from Hillberry at the very bottom of the mountain section and they were so much quicker than anyone else.

Thanks for the ESPN pointer, will keep an eye out for it.

Lance:thumbup:

The Bayliss/Edwards battle is a classic.

Beat me to it:thumbup:

IMHO, THE best Superbike race EVER!!!

I'm sure its ESPN channel thats showing the Top 10 WSBK races but cant find it on Google?

Cant remember where i read it, maybe MCN. I'll have a look and keep you all informed:thumbup:

Lance, i'm glad we're agreeing on something!!

Ian:)

Just a quote by somebody called Agostini

Agostini: `Rossi is not finished yet´

Friday, 04 April 2008

Generally regarded as the greatest rider of all time, MotoGP Legend Giacomo Agostini has fired a warning to those harking the end of the second most successful Italian World Champion´s MotoGP reign of dominance: Write Valentino Rossi off at your peril.

Generally regarded as the greatest rider of all time, MotoGP Legend Giacomo Agostini has fired a warning to those harking the end of the second most successful Italian World Champion´s MotoGP reign of dominance: Write Valentino Rossi off at your peril.

The 15-time titlist –untouchable in the 1960´s and 1970´s- has been a longtime fan of Rossi, regarded as his successor in the premier class. Now a spectator rather than a participant in the World Championship, Agostini has seen a dry run for his countryman over the past two years, although he does not feel that the Rossi-era has reached its conclusion just yet.

`Valentino Rossi is not finished yet, like people say. He´s still one of the best riders, and when everything is at 100% I think that he will have a chance to win,´ said Agostini at last weekend´s race in Jerez.

`It is a very difficult championship; there´s a lot of new riders and they are very aggressive. Of course the rider with the number one (Casey Stoner) has it for a reason,´ continued the 65 year-old, who was also pleased with the success of Ducati in 2007.

`For Italian people it is very nice, because Ducati is a small company and they beat all the big factories. They did a lot of hard work, and of course they have a very good rider.´
