The New Ibiza

what so they won't do a 100bhp diesel then? as thats what a normal fabia has.

According to Autocar the new Fiesta is based on the same underpinnings as the Mazda. No evidence that you'll be able to get either with a diesel motor that has similar power and torque to an ordinary 1.9 TDi Fabia. Oh well, another Fabia for me then...

according to parkers the fabia comes with 3 diesel varients ranging from 70 to 105bhp with the 0-60 ranging from 14.3 to 10.5 respectivly and the mazda 2 only gets a N/A 1.4d at the moment with about 70 bhp and about the same performance as the 70bhp fabia. personally i would expect a more powerful derv to come seeing as the fiesta(same platform) got a 90bhp 1.6TDci

Would've thought they'd just stick with the 88bhp 1.6TDCI? Though given that it's a fairly light block it might make for a better drive than the heavy 100bhp 1.9TDi, despite being down 12bhp... :rubchin:
