I thought there couldn't be technology in a pedal. It's a bit of plastic you push. It has a hinge at one end and a stopper measuring depression at the other :confused:

its what they use to measure which is the new technology they now use 2 electronic chips which generate a magnetic force aound them and the varible is measured by metal surface controled by the pedal postion the metal distrubes the magnetic field then the chip detects where ecxctly the metal surface is and coverts it to an electronic signal and sends it to the engine ecu.

This looks like a fork lift truck accelerator pedal

I can vouch for the floor hinged pedal being more comfotable that the standard setup.

My Mini had the floor mounted pedal and it was a lot easier on the ankle than the Octavia. I find the pedal setup in the Octavia rather uncomfortable for us 6 footers with long legs!

The one in the pic looks rather hideous BTW!

But the Furby has D.B.W as well on the conventional pedal type !

Used this pedal type in a Honda Accord Estate TDi I drove last week, can't say I noticed much difference.

what did you think of the accord?
