Golden rule I was taught on my advanced driving day was to essentially ignore indication - to use it as a guide only. Could have come a cropper many times had I assumed indicators were indicating true intention.

140 PM at the moment and 240 with an accident? How old are you? I'm paying (yes in one go but..) £850 and I'm only 22 - 21 at the time I took the policy out. I thought that was dear compared to £500 for a vectra SRI... jeez

when i took it out i just turned 21 and it was on a Primera, i swapped it for the skoda and the monthly went to nearly £140. Who you with coz thats good that is.

Just to pi$$ you off my VRS ins with mods + 1 accident is £285.
:finger:

LMAO thats possibly my monthly premium after this.

I've learned a valuable lesson from this.

P.S i aint got any thing but respect for the majority of elderly people. The fact of the matter was he was telling me what i should do etc. etc. that's what riled me, if he were anyone else i would have had the same opinion of him.

if it makes you feel any better im 32 now and its never got any cheaper since i past my test in the early nineties (first car acoord aerodeck 2.0 12v £400 f comp then)

never had a bump, 8 years no claims company car previous to that, drive a artic for a living(thought lgv class 1 would have helped thought wrong obviously i drive the same as some muppet working in mcdonalds in his pimped saxo):thumbdwn:

the name old blue tells you why its that cheap lol:rofl::rofl:

Quickly done on paint

Give way to traffic approaching from the right, think you should settle for the 50/50

Same thing happened to me, thought about contesting it but as I had NCP decided to get on with life:)

Well this would have been my 1st NCB so not lost too much lost in that dept. but as said £400 excess & increased premium is whats guna stick is.

I've got Tesco value insurance (fully comp but no windscreen cover and repairs only guaranteed for 1 year instead of 3). Still - suits me though, You'll probably find that listing an accident in the last 3-5 years puts the premium up just as much as lack of NCD. I had an accident 4 years ago... with the companies that ask mif you've had an accident in the last 3 years this really helps.

im afraid that the RTC is your fault, you did the hitting, did nt pay due car and attention and didnt leave enough braking space between the two of you. If you can get a 50/50 for it then g for it as it be the best you will get. From personal experience (and im with directline too) i had a van indicating to turn left i was slightly over the junction as i couldnt see down the road, the van hit the front of me even through i was stationary and i was found at fault as i was over the line. I beleive we settled on a 50/50 eventually.

did you take any photos of the scene, his car, his tax disc (out of date tax means he wont be insured nor should he be on the road) ;) make a note if he had any passengers (in case he claims whiplash for the 20 kids in the back).??

:eek::eek::eek: £2880 for insurance

Glad I'm a bit older now. I couldn't/wouldn't ever run a car if my insurance was that much.

That sounds about right for a newly qualified driver in a performance car , and this thread shows why - bad judgement from inexperience leads to accidents

The car was only a few months old, so it would of had tax and he had no one else in the car. TBH 50/50 is a bit of a long shot the way things are looking. So I'l keep a tub of vasoline handy, ready for the shafting.

out of date tax means he wont be insured
