Thanks for all the replies. When this happens I usually tap the brakes a few times, but on this occasion it had no effect and he just got closer. I think if I'd slowed again he would just have hit me.

I would be inclined to think that using the remote control of that scrolling thingy would be as bad, if not worse, as using a mobile when driving. Let them pass.

i tend to slow abit more aleave a bigger gap with the car in front as i dont want the ***** in my boot. had a **** in a merc today had to dangerously overtake me in my lorry (50 limit im restricted to 56) he over takes and squeezes in between me and the car in front. got onto the dual carraige way and the traffic keeps at between 45-50mph i then overtake him and the rest at 50, so much for the impatient driving and the need to get in front of me.. grrrrr.
