I went out and wound the two rubber bungs in the boot lid underside out a half turn and it all works as expected. Press the release button then lift the boot lid - without pushing the button under to boot lid.

Are you lifting it straight away or giving it a few seconds?

Do you find the boot closes alright or do you have to really bang it now?

Understood .... BUT... if you press remote, let it whir and then wait for 3 - 5 secs for the second whir; are you then able to lift it without touching the catch?

I'm thinking that the second whir is the boot lock re-engaging as a 'safety catch' in case you have opened it by mistake and it will stop the boot lid flying open.

I tried adjusting my bungs last night and had to turn them about three full turns out so that I could lift the boot after the second whir of the lock without touching the catch BUT having done this I felt, from the way the boot lid popped up and the change of tone to the clunck as the catch was released, that the catch was now under too much strain, which seemed wrong. I wound the bungs back in.

Frankly; I have no real issue with the way it works right now, which seems to have a degree of sense and method (safety catch included) that I'm going to leave it alone and get on with other things.

Understood, I'd agree the second whir after 5 secs or so does seem to be it relocking. The alarm went off on mine for the first time when I unlocked it, it whirred (relocked) then the internal sensors in the car went off when a gust of wind blew the car. Mine does make a different note when opening, but it doesn't seem strained. I'd look into readjusting the catch in the lower boot but that looks like a complete pain to disassemble the lower plastics and then adjust that too.

I have an 08 Elegance estate. The tailgate requires a real good slam to get it to lock. It if is closed normally it seems to lock on the first catch but its not fully closed the dash warning light comes on and the rear wash wipe fails to operate.

I've had it back to DM Keith Ossett where I bought it who say it is fine but I suspect not.

I had a look at the bungs at the weekend and they seem to be fully down. Adjusting with allen key and spanner made no difference. I removed the rubber bungs completely and that made no difference either!
