Go to your skoda dealer and have a test drive of a furby vRS.

Place your bets now. I bet he ends up putting a deposit down :)

Me too

The 1.4TDi has a nicer balance than the vRS though - less nose heavy. It will be cheaper to insure and run, and it drives nicer.

Don't be silly! Get the 1.9 TDI 100bhp Elegance ;) You gotta love those heated seats! :D

Not much of a selling point this time of year!!

Depends on how cold you run the air con! :D

Personally, I'd rather have an extra 30bhp than heated seats for the same money ;) When you get driving enthusiastically, who needs heated seets? You heat them on your own :D

And if you're anywhere south, let me know if your dealer can't give you a test drive ;)

Ah right - so that's why all the bolsters fray? :P ;)

... what can honestly be done with the engine of a 1.2 HTP 55BHP Fabia ....

Hat, brooch ...... but that's not important right now

No idea really but agree with others that it's not going to be a very tunable lump. If your main problem is insurance, sell the Fabia, buy something older but better performing or more tunable, and spend the difference on the insurance. Insurance gradually builds up no-claims and gets cheaper...

Good idea... 1.8T Audi A3 for about

What can be done with the 1.2? Having been lumbered with one for the past week while my car is fixed I can think of a few choice things.

If you do anything get a decent radio system fitted - it won't help the power, but it'll help to keep you sane as the engine note is dreadful. (Doesn't help that the stereo in the car has not had a code programmed in! )
