Ive been playing around with my new octavia vrs and having a read through the manual etc...

Its pretty cool that you can get the windows to shut themselves when you hold the key in the locking position.. Is there anyway you can get it setup so it works when you hold the remote locking button on the key ? Is this something that vagcom might be able to turn on ?

My dads new jetta does it when you hold the button down...

You can get an alien tech controller that you attach to the wiring loom inside the drivers door. I fitted one of these to my car to provide the same functionality that the you get in the VWs.

I have one too. Awesome sell a similar unit in the UK. And there is one that reprograms the ECU somehow rather than being wired in.

I bought the one from Awesome, I can't remeber what it's called but it works quite well. It will roll the windows up when you lock the car and you can also roll the windows down from the remote too. It's when I try to roll my windows down from the office at work that it's sometimes doesn't work, it never fails to do them up though. A good bit of kit that takes about 2 mins to fit!

The Alientech one also has a vent mode, where it locks the car, but will leaves the sunroof on tilt and the windows rolled down about 1/2 an inch.

I tried to order from them but was a little unsure, ended up paying over the odds and getting it from Awesome in the end.

Loads of people have them on here already, they work fine. As I said in an earlier post, the only thing I find sometimes is the windows don't always roll down when I try to, this could be down to poor batteries in my key fob or something though.

I had this, but on replacing the battery in the fob (CR2032 Battery) all is good.

Yeah, I suspected as much! It's something I'll look into getting sorted... when I can be bothered! It works most of the time and it always locks and unlocks the car okay, so I'll cope with it for a little longer.

It involves taking the product out of its bag, plugging it into the serial port (under the steering wheel area of your dash) for around two minutes, utnil it beeps at you, unplugging it from the port and putting it back in the bag to lose in a cupboard somewhere.

Plug it into the diag port on your car leave until it bleeps (About 1 min), then remove.

Simple as that:thumbup:

I emailed vagparts as i hadnt heard anything and was informed that stock was sent out yesterday so m hoping it might arrive tomorrow!

I emailed them today and am awaiting a reply. Keep us posted as to when yours arrives
