The Leon gets new shoes & springy bits!!

Featured Replies

The next batch of mods to the Leon are probably the most expensive, but probably the best ones for me.

First up is the suspension.

I've heard good things about Koni FSD's & I knew that I would have to match up dampers if I wanted a drop of around 30mm. The Eibach Pro Kit springs are a perfect match & day to day driving seems to have improved dramatically.

Smaller bumps are soaked up effortlessly (something that the OEM SEAT Sport suspension didn't do well) & potholes & speed bumps don't rattle my fillings anymore. :)

The springs probably need a few miles to settle down, as the drop is more like 20mm at the moment.

Next up are the alloys.

I've been debating a while on what style & size of alloys I wanted. New RS4's & RS6's have been top of the list, but I was undecided on whether to go for 18" or 19".

One day, when I was coming home from work, I saw an Audi A8 with these 5 spokes that reminded me of TT Comps (some of you will remember my Fabia vRS with TT Comps, Gawd bless it!!).

I've always had a soft spot for 5 spokes, maybe it's the simplicity of them.

These particular 5 spokes are pretty rare & not many come up for sale. Luckily, I saw these within a few days of looking & swiftly grabbed them.

They're Audi A8 Parabols, 8.5"x18" ET45 & they fill the arches really, really well.

I actually got these with the correct size tyres for the Leon (225/40 ZR18 Yokohama S306). Got them for a bargain price too, considering how rare they are.

Anyway, heres the pics.

Thanks Lummox!

Does look great Jon!!!

Any plans to put Seat badges on the wheels?? Still looks a tad high, but thats me being overly critical - its certainly 10x better than it was :)

That grille though - get an "S" badge back on it, please! :P

Looks mean.

I really wanted these wheels on my old Passat - boy they'd have been perfect.

They certainly do a good job of filling the massive arches of the Leon!

Have you noticed a slight decrease in performance per chance

I really like those wheels they set the car off. I'm not a big fan of the current leon, but that looks good!

Funnily enough, I bought them off a guy who took them off his Passat.

The wheels are considerably heavier than the standard 17's, so I guess performance will be affected a little.

Looks really good, the alloys are a bit like the Superb solids (aren't they?) Get some FR / Cupra bumpers on there!

Looking good, love the wheels.

Have you considered smoked repeaters?

never seen a leon with those wheels... looks really good

I have always liked your car Jon.

The wheels suit it well - Keep up the good work!

Looks really good mate but i have the say that get the S back on the nose painted black to finish it off.

IMO of course

Haven't really considered smoked repeaters, but might give them a go sometime later.

You never know, I might get myself a MY08 Cupra grille & paint the "S" badge a darker colour.

That should keep you & Tom happy!!! :D

Excellent :D

Thanks guys!

The springs are settling now & it seems to have dropped to a nice level. Not too much, but enough to give a good stance.

The extra width of the wheels gives it a really mean stance too, especially when looking from the rear.

I'm happy with how it looks now, but the strive for perfection is never ending!! :D

oh wow...... i want a leon
