That looks familiar!

And strangely appealing..

And strangely appealing..

It was the days when Saloons only bore a loose relationship to the car they claimed to be unlike todays boring procesional racing, great days

Of course "aerodynamics" hadn't been properly invented, and brake pads and tyres were made of concrete or wood. ;)

Yep & it really showed the drivers skill, Gerry Marshall on 3 wheels, Dave Brodie, Andy Rouse, John Burbridge in an E-Type etc etc, Great days.

I can even remember a race at Thruxton towing caravans, only a field of about 6, one was converted into something resembling a flat bed at the complex :D

I think we had better hide now, weve gone somewhat off topic & we stand a chance of being moderated :o:O:O:O

Other than #30, I think we're talking about the "fastest Skoda". If any moderator wants to try and argue that a vehicle entered in competition as a "Skoda 110RS" is not a Skoda, could I ask that they do so in open forum please?

Thought the honor would belong tp the Brisk fabia with 500bhp.

not by the looks of them video's, didn't seem all that quick to me. relatively speaking ofcourse :)

you can tell how fast a car is by the number of gearboxes you can breach the hull integrity of.... which makes me Kirk and you Picard....

BHP means duck all, I remember Paul up against the 600 bhp Supra at Bruntingthorpe, the same one I whipped on everything except long straights on the Cannonball with a mere 250 bhp at the time. My new cars 475 bhp but Im still convinced the Skoda with 4WD is quicker overall

bhp is just pub talk most of the time.

torque is often the winner

well 443lb/ft sounds perfectly reasonable to me, in fact 100 more than a Fezza 430:P

I think the ex JBS demo was the quickest car on paper at about 600bhp

who's got that now?

did it have that power when sold on?

anyone on here?

its torque either that wins, infact what is mroe important is the spread of torque as peak numbers don't mean anything :)

its all well and good making 400lbft but if your not making it till 5000rpm and then it goes again all of a sudden a car making only 200lbft but from say 2000-6000rpm will probably be faster as its pulling hard when the other is doing nowt.

Not sure who has it, but it was detuned before being sold.

Brisk 500 bhp at 7,800 rpm, 443 lb/ft at 3,700 rpm, F430 483 bhp at 8,500 rpm 343 lb/ft at 5,250 rpm. Come on admit it, it is one hell of a nippy Fabia :P Admittedly I am unable to find a torque curve for it but can't see it being that bad:rofl:

my comments are just on the video's of it, didn't look that quick.

So called big power Skoda's, Track somewhere, sorted. :D

but i sold mine ages ago.. so even assuming you have learned to follow the grey bit and not go chasing seagulls on the grass (ahhh pembrey... the memories) it would be a hollow victory for you....

I was trying to find somewhere nice to have my sandwiches

Anyway, isn't your old Skoda a fridge or something now.

Did you take the windscreen out to save weight. ;)

no but i recall taviaRS trying to remove the sump for weight saving.....

then he tried getting more power by forcing the turbo vanes through the inlet manifold but IIRC this was less than sucessful.

I always found that getting the turbo impeller out of the back box a lot easier. Oh and loosing a couple rods helped.
