a nice wide power band with strong torque and a god driver are so much better than a peaky engine!

I know of a couple of fabias lurking around that would confirm your theory of the fabia vrs being the fastest.........mine included

Think im saying around 400 is the "Reliable" limit for these engines is it not? with decent rods, pistons, turbo etc... Correct me if im wrong

Never Timed it, i dont do things like that, i just know its damn quick :P

I think its the rods Garry. Its usually the rods that tend to fail in high output engines, cause by excess pressures, fatigue or rev's.

Well Skud if your torque figures are 367lbft she must be pretty quick imo.
