Hi all,

I test drove a 56 plate petrol today, it is around the sort of money I want to pay (when discounted ;) ) one thing I missed was that there seemed to be no steering wheel controls for the radio/cd.

I see in this thread that this is an addition to the 08MY, is this the case or was it introduced earlier so if I can get a good price on an 07 or even 57 I would have it, as it is a great thing to have in my opinion.

Also it could've been me being blinded by the performance of the car on the test drive, either way your help would be appreciated.

Also I had decided on black, ruling out silver but the one on a test drive was race blue, and that's definately growing on me now.

Steering wheel controls for the radio, phone, cd etc, etc are an optional extra, but you do get a nice wheel to hold into the bargain!

If you drove a vRS, which given that it was Race Blue is a pretty fair bet, then steering wheel controls aren't available for the 3 spoke steering wheel.

..............but can be retro fitted as a 4 spoke from the Elegance/L&K but you lose the 'sporty' look and doesn't look quite right imo.

I have cruise control on my 1.9 TDI Elegance 54 plate but the cruise light doesn't light up BUT I can see the symbol on the dash if I get at the right angle anyway of making it light up?

I think that we have been into this one before (try a search) but the general consencus of opinion was that it wasn't possible, unfortunately.

Found the thread :) thanks.

Don't see the point in putting a icon on the dash if it doesnt light up lol ah well.
