Looking for opinions on bonnet bras. Getting way to many stone chips on my bonnet and read this is a good way to prevent them.
Only problem is every 1.2l corsa in my area has them.
Was planning on using just for motorways as not to get the chavvy look

Wat you all think?

Personally I wouldn't bother. I'd rather go for a protective clear film wrap. If your budget allows that is.

Always wondered btw. What the hell are those two rolly sausage things at the top edge actually supposed to do?

Mr Ree they are weights, meant to stop the bra from lifting at high speed etc.

Davvrs has one of these on his car and I think if you ask him he will say dont bother, they **** your paint!!

A way to stop stone chips is to stop driving so close to the car in front.

Just bloody awful.
Better off respraying the bonnet and then getting it
clear vinyl'd to keep it pristine as Bossfox says.

Yes, it does actually appear to be quite conclusive doesn't it?

Just as a matter of interest, how much are these 'how to make yourself and your car look like a ****' devices?

Saw them on eBay for 65 smackers

Money which could be well spent in other areas after listening to the "constructive" criticism

Thnx everyone.

Car bra's are/were all the rage in the US at one point, the rubbing will over time do more damage to the paint than the stone chips ever could and over a much larger area. 'Cheap' anti chip films are inexpensive enough and you could probably do a reasonable job on key area's cutting to pre-made templates but the answer as always is leave a bigger gap. I might order some in if I can be bothered and have a play but on an 11 y/o car it's not exactly a priority for me.

Not to bra. They look like poo in my opinion. Get a paint stick and fill in the chips. Its a car at the end of the day, its not going to stay perfect forever as much as we'd all like them too.

They don't scratch paintwork - unless you're a goon and don't take it off after each journey :)
