ive just ran out in the street after my neighbours son lol

it was a 06c 103 485P cap

the result was

it fitted and clicked in place but offset

hope this help the mk2 guys - or i looked a nutter for nothing

A couple of people have opened theirs up to change the angle.

Hi Lloyd, can you please mark me down for an oil cap only please.

This is what I already wrote a member here on the board. It tries to explain turning the oil cap from its base. In this case it is the R8 cap, but as the original is built the same, I assume the Porsche caps are no different:

If you look at the cap from the side, you can see a small rubber lip that is directly under the top.

You have to carefully remove this little rubber ring with a lip (not the flat one, that functions as a

gasket between the opening and the cap).

Underneath this ring there is a small gap. Here you will have to carefully insert a small screwdriver

and try to lever them apart. So that you can insert a wider screwdriver that keeps the 2 parts apart.

Than carefully go around with the smaller screwdriver, seperating the top an the bottom.

They will separate with a click. (just snapped together). Also carefull here, as you dont want the top

go flying around.

If they are separated, you can turn the 2 parts so that it will fit the way it should.

Before you snap the oil cap together, fist put back the rubber

(lipped) ring into the top and than click back the bottom.

And this considering the water cap (also R8)

I had to turn the water cap 180°

On the inside it also has 4 slits just like the oil cap. Difference is

that one of the slits is a little wider. So I had to widen the slit opposite

to the original wider one. Did it with a cutter knife.

The plastic has to be at room temp or a little higher, so that the plastic

is cut easier.

All you have to do is cut very small slices from both sides. Not much,

smaller slits are about 1-1.5mm and the wider is about 3-4.

If the slit is wide enough, you can just snap it together 180° turned.

And then the pressure valve as I mentioned before, a couple of posts up.

Tonight i will be sending out a final pm to the unpaid folk on the list

Update from Porsche. Please read!!

Update direct from the horses mouth, so to speak.

I just got off the phone from Porsche.

They are having issues fulling the caps order and have ran out of the caps in UK and Germany.

The caps have been put on back order which is any thing from 2 weeks to 2 months for the order to be with me.

I'm waiting for them to get back to me with a better idea of delivery date.

At the moment we have two choices.

Wait for the caps.

Or

Refund you the money.

I still aim on placing the order on Friday to try and limit the waiting time as much as possible for everyone.

Let my self or Lloyd know what you want to do

If you pick to wait for the caps to come in, it will make my life so much easier.

I'm sorry this has happened but there is nothing else I can do.
