Oh my god! How i have missed this little car. Just done a 90 mile trip back home, i have been driving an old hyundai coupe for the past 7 months and to get in to the fabia is unreal. Missed my coilovers so much it felt so smooth and tight but mostly i have missed the power just cruising through the gears is so nice. I just cant wait to get enough money for an uprated clutch and then back for a full map to get the most out of the turbo.

Glad to hear this is back on the road buddy, bet your so glad. I know I was glad to get back behind the wheel of a Fabia after my crash, the 1L Micra was stupid haha. Look forward to some more updates soon pal.

Joe, your on AP coilovers right? How do you rate them?

Cheers

Oh and more pics please, now it's back on the road!

Cheers southy.

I think they are very good for the money mate. Im running no strut brace and no crash(that some think effects the stiffness) and its so tight and the ride is great not harsh atall and makes for very good everyday driving. I missed the car mainly for the ride quality it was so nice to be back in it. Your more than welcome to have a little meet up and a test drive to see what you think of them.

I am this close *raises fingers to a this close position* to buying them, but reviews on here are hit and miss. Some mention the helper springs and squeaking noises? I had them on my fiesta ST and was happy with them. I may just buy them, what else did you replace at the same time?

Thanks joe.

That's good news then. Will get ordering now!

Cheeky engine bay shot showing my egr delete and pipework along with my garden house(only pipe i had big enough) temp untill i get some black silicone.

2013-02-21180119_zps28683c9a.jpg

Also sprayed my inlet and intake pipe with bung fitted whilst it was all off, unsure to leave my engine cover on or off though. Also my strut brace needs putting back on so thats a job for tomorrow along with sealing the doors.

What is that garden hose doing ? I've seen this mod a lot and always wondered what it actually does

  • Author

If you search elephant mod or ccv mod you should find lots of details but it basically diverts the hot oily vapour from going into the intake and turbo etc and keeping my intercooler clean. The hose will be replaced with a black silicone one and a catch can though.

What did you use to blank off the TIP matey?

Been looking allover, DIY shops, B&Q, Wickes, Wilko's etc.. cannot find anything to block it off :(

I found a large faced alan bolt in my dads works and fitted perfect, gave it a blast over with paint to blend it in.

just resealed the rear doors, lets hope it works this time.

Haha damn rear doors are always leaking

What diameter are your boost pipes Joe? I've just bought some reducers to run 57mm ones but now Im reading that 50mm would have been better!

Are you running the Forge adaptors for the turbo & EGR?

  • Author

i have a 57mm top pipe (the 90 silicone and 45 metal) that goes into a 57-51mm 45reducer so the rest are 51mm to the turbo with reducers off the intercooler. i bought my turbo adaptor from darkside as it was the best price around and its 51mm so that why i stuck with that size other than to the egr delete wich is 57mm. hope that makes sense :)

Sure does mate, Im going to use the Forge ones providing they have one that will fit my EGR as they're a little cheaper and have beengreat with any questions I've asked :)

  • Author

i emailed forge about a turbo adaptor and they said they dont and wont make one :S i emailed back saying you have done before and they said not to there knoledge. so i went to darkside. forge do stock the egr one but i didnt need that due to the egr delete. someone was selling ones on ebay for half the price of forge, they done three sizes one would fit the egr but did not stock the size for the turbo.

Hmm maybe they've got mixed up! Do you know the seller for the eBay ones mate?

I did catch wind that there was some on eBay but for the life of me can't find them. Looks as though DS may be the better bet for the turbo one then!

sorry mate i searched everything i could think of and nothing aswell. i did email him but ebay delete your archive after so long.

just orderd some black silicone pipe for the ccv and some light smoke tint for the headlights to get the front end back to how i want it.

sorry mate i searched everything i could think of and nothing aswell. i did email him but ebay delete your archive after so long.

No problem mate I managed to find it last night after some right searching! I've emailed him as he doesn't sell the sizes I need.

Thanks for the help, no doubt I'll have plenty of Qs for you once you get mapped as I'm considering a hybrid 130 as the 150s seem a little expensive / hard to come by!

  • Author

he sold the egr size when i was looking but not the turbo size but i didnt need the egr one.

yer they do seem to be less available now, i went with a pd130 as i was only looking for around 200bhp but now i have it back i cant wait for it to get mapped as its so much better than it was before still on the old map.
