Hi well I have done research on "you tube" and read a manual (a Golf one I was given) and read the excellent "How To " guide from Scud missile (the best research by far).

But I have the car to bits but cannot remove the Aluminium cambelt cover from the engine bay to continue the job , it is the one that has three 16mm hex bolts into the block and three bolts through the top that goes to the mounting.All the bolts out and the engine all flopping around on jack and stands.

Can anyone give me clue as to what I have done wrong.

Also how can I tell exactly which engine I have it is 1.9 diesel PD 2003.6Y2364 Fabia.EWT 9151 EC 74KW ADT.from the owners schedule and then loads of sets of three digit numbers and letters.

Its a PD100 - ATD is the engine code - and I have moved to the Fabia 1 forum, as this isn't a technical guide.
