Err, £10 every 6000 miles or so. I think I can live with that. Pick the diesel or the petrol to suit your personal needs, and have the self confidence to be happy in your own choice rather than feeling the need to rubbish other people’s choices.

Thought I'd add a couple of pictures, only seems appropriate. I'm really over the moon with this piece of kit. Seem to be having some intermittent Android Auto issues but confident that is the AA software, not the car - the car is the mutts nutts (IMO) 😉

I must be lucky then, mine will be 5 years old in November and no white worm on the wheels yet, fingers crossed! I seldom open the sunroof so this may be why I haven't had a problem but it makes the cabin a far nicer place to be and a lot nicer than my solid roofed previous Yeti which felt a little gloomy.

I thinking anyone boasting about their environmental friendliness whilst buying a heavy truck with the aerodynamics of a brick is only convincing themselves, regardless of fuel type.

I sleep well at night knowing I chose the more environmentally friendly alternative and I don't have a fake speaker in my exhaust to make me sound faster than I am

I bought this today, and was installed this afternoon by the good Mr Rustynuts. What a thoroughly nice bloke. He explained everything he was doing in detail, and talked me through everything I would need later (DAB aerial etc) and where to get it from. Went through the whole lot with VCDS to clear any codes relating to the old stereo (and some old engine codes), made sure absolutely every connection and option worked. The unit itself was advertised as having a scratch, but looked absolutely brand spanking new other than one tiny blemish in the corner that I had to squint to see. Even made me a cuppa. Top bloke. If you're in the North East or within easy travelling distance of North Yorkshire, I highly recommend. Total professional.

My 1.4 TSI also achieves peak torque at 1500rpm. And is able to maintain peak torque right to 4000rpm. And yeah. Agreed on the noise. All diesels just sound naff under 6 cylinders. The fake sounds pumped in are naff. And the tweaking of the exhaust also sounds naff as the rattle from the engine can still be heard.

Switching off Stop / Start is there with the press of a button for those that want to put it off. No more difficult than putting on or off the rear demister, putting up or down a window.

Sorry I probably didnt make myself clear, my Grandad is putting the vehicle into P when shutting the car down. He is not trying to shut it down in Neutral. The problem is, if he has put the vehicle into N at any point during his drive, for example at traffic lights or when moving between gears, the gearbox module goes to "sleep", so when he comes to park, he puts it into P before switching off the engine but the car doesn't recognise that the gear selector is in P and a fault code appears on the dash, advising to put the car into p, and please visit workshop. This then means he can't lock the car as the gear selector doesn't think the vehicle is in P, when in fact it is. Skoda have said this is driver error, i contest this, as the gearbox is not fit for purpose. It renders the Neutral position obsolete and putting a vehicle into Neutral shouldnt cause the gearbox to malfunction like this. My Grandad then has to restart the vehicle and take it on a short drive, to "reset" the gearbox, ensuring he doesn't use N at any time. When he comes to park the gear selector behaves as normal and when he puts it into P, he can turn off the car and lock it. To reiterate, If N is used at any point it causes the above fault. This is why i believe there is a fault with the TCU as an automatic gearbox shouldn't go to sleep if the Neutral position is used. Skoda have released a TSB regarding this so there must have been some wider issues with other cars?

I've had my L&K 1.4 for 4 years and have had absolutely no problems with the sun roof, and no wheel corrosion. If I'm being picky the centre 'Skoda' wheel caps have white edges now but that happened on my previous Yeti and most others I've seen. The brown seats don't bother me in the slightest and all the extra bells and whistles make it a really nice car.

New Forge intercooler fitted. All I'll say is never again 🙄

Not sure on the right section to put this but wanted to share my feedback. So I am a volunteer driver for the NHS, part of a Warwickshire group called 4x4 volunteers as we usually assist during snow and floods moving patients and nurses, however our services have been needed during Covid. So I was dropping a nurse off in leamington when my ‘check engine oil’ light came on... never a good thing. Luckily I was just at the nurses house which happens to be 30 seconds from the Skoda dealership. Knowing I have a service plan with Skoda and having no other options I got to the dealership and checked the oil (dipstick was showing just on the bottom), again never a good thing... So I went in as as its a Sunday there was only 2 salesmen working, with no access to the service stock room. However after explaining my predicament the sales man noticed oil sat on a self ‘advertising’ the oil and we checked that it was right for my car and after sussing out it is absolutely the right oil, he gave it to me free of charge and helped me fill my car and then off I went. This may have been just a nice good will gesture from the salesman, however this is exactly the kind of service that makes you go back... so next time I want a new Skoda I’ll be heading to leamington as it thoroughly impressed me... albeit a small ish gesture! Anyway.. thought I’d share!

That doesn't sound right. The projectors do have a good amount of upwards movement available as the levelling can compensate for a heavy load in the front of the car, and also the lights do angle slightly upwards when "motorway light" mode is active. But they should not be aiming upwards during normal driving. Does it still do the self test when you start the engine? Do the lights return to the centre position afterwards or do they go up high? When you perform the basic setting it should move the projectors to their absolute centre position, and it uses the current reading from the level sensors as its "absolutely level" point. If your headlights were well aligned before you changed the coding, you should not need to adjust them again. Also note that the manual adjustment screws on the actual headlights do not move the projectors with the same mechanism that the automatic levelling does. If the projectors are pointing upwards during normal driving then you have a serious problem. Or maybe you did the basic setting while there was a big load in the boot, and now when you drive without that load in the boot the auto levelling is aiming the headlights higher to compensate for what it thinks is the car running with the nose pitched down? Could you post a photo of one of the projectors so we can see?

By the way, your 190 PS TSI emissions are higher than 190 PS TDI ones.

my usual routes are not quite so scenic 😢 I was 'gifted' £500 to spend on anything i wanted so..... the bike i 'exported' to France and swore not to spend too much on it, ye right! the forks were pogo sticks so courtesy of Bike24 Germany it now has Rockshox Recon solo air's and ready to go back to France after a good service and new chain. forks are also over a Kilo lighter so as i originally had the Whyte as a replacement for the no-spend Felt i felt guilty so decided a fork upgrade was also needed 🙄 nothing available new so off to the Bay of e we went....Fox factory 34 kashima's from France £380! these are also lighter by 700g's so as i was sorting out 2 bikes at the same time obviously something would go awry...turns out 110 boost doesnt fit into a 100 fork...oops! so it was either a DT Swiss hub or similar and rebuild the rim or a new wheel(set) ? very low stock anywhere of anything remotely able to fit front and rear so Bike24 to the rescue again. Mavic Crossride front £78, ordered Sun pm, arrived from Germany Wed pm all now sorted Mavic decals are too brash for me so will be stripped gonna take some setting up the Fox's....air, sag, rebound's, compression Oh yes, budget? blown obviously by at least £100

The company nearby in Ossett who were advertising new Tuks have disappeared but I've found this company who also are very near; https://www.rickshawrevival.com/ Piaggio look to be a big and respected manufacturer of Tuks but the Atul Tuk supplier is so local to me it would be much better for after sales etc. At the moment I'm window shopping gathering information before jumping in to buy a Tuk; our driveway accepts one car so I'd need to widen the driveway. You can't just change the one, even then. You would need the pair. Its also the wing (Fender) as the light is shaped differently so won't fit. So thats two lights, two wings, front panel, bonnet, bumper, bonnet lock, many other parts, wiring, perhaps wheel arches, the list goes on... This will also need painting, fitting, etc. You will spend thousands on a car worth less then the sum of the parts! Do you not have car breakers/dismantlers anywhere near you? It would be cheaper to drive a few hundred miles to source a used light, then do all the work, even if it can then still be done. Once you start you will be stuffed if you can't continue. It might even be easier to sell the car, advertised as needing a new light or buying a crashed one, with the light still there. Be careful not to also get the wrong type of light as you need projector and NOT reflector. If you get a reflsector, again, you will need to change a pair and they will need totally different wiring to operate. A whole new nightmare! Doable but again, not worth the cost! The dealer should have not sold you the light so do your best to get a refund or you will be left with something that won't work. In English terms, your car is worth at best, £2000 with the headlight and low mileage, etc. The paintwork, parts, fitting will come closer to £3000, if doable and then, the car will not be worth a penny more then when you started. A light will cost you around £100, less from a scrapyard/motor factor, eBay, etc and you can almost certainly fit it yourself or pay another £100 to get someone to do it. I can only state again, you have the wrong part, you have the part for a newer, altered model of the same car. Put it this way, if the new light fitted straight from the box, I would have had a set on my car as the bulbs are supposedly a bit better. Carparts4less sell some, with a nice black tint to them. I would then have sold my own ones on eBay as they would be original Skoda parts. FROM 2010, THE FABIA HAD A NEW, REDESIGNED FRONT END, INCLUDING ALL THE LISTED PARTS (BONNET, WINGS, GRILLE, HEADLIGHTS, BUMPER, PLUS OTHER BITS AND BOBS. They also had newer generation engines, new seat upholstery, plus various other bits. It was still a MK2 Fabia, called the facelift, as it was mostly the same but still SIGNIFICANTLY different. That is partly why after all the changes needed, the car will still not be worth more. It could actually end up being worth less, could cause great confusion when repairs are needed, and insurance (If needed in your country) May well go up due to the modifications. The only benefit would be a slightly unusual version of the car as it will be the old shape, with the later shape front end. There will be possibly one or two people who like the idea and perhaps offer a better price to buy, come the time to sell but most will start to think it was involved in a crash and repaired, using later version parts. Would you buy that? In all honesty and again, I cannot say it firmly enough, try getting the money back for the part you payed for or sell it on again at perhaps a small loss as you have the wrong part. To attempt the work, unless you are in the trade or have someone you know in the trade, renovating and modifying will be a money pit, with no real benefit! It might even be worth buying the cheapest Fabia you can find, taking the light and selling it again as a repairable... Perhaps stick your broken unit back in to look like it was ok, just needing the light. Cheap MK 2's are seen from around £800 in the UK. no idea again, how much they would be in India. Oh, one more thing... The Fabia you refer to in the post, where the guy swapped the lights, wiring, etc IS A FACEFLIFT. If you are thinking it is not, you are very wrong. I am now thinking you are considering the later, 2015 Fabia MK3, is the facelift. This was actually a whole new car. The facelift was around half way though the production of Fabia MK 2 (5J) As they started around 2007, facelift 2010, new model Fabia MK3, 2015. Please take heed of this post as you will find so much trouble, unless you really, REALLY want to pay a fortune modifying your car. The whole point of this forum is to help others... I would not stress anywhere near this much, the point I have made, just to put you off. Best wishes, Gary. (mrgf).

If you have a 2020 Octavia then you don't have an Amundsen+, you have a MIB2 Amundsen. If you have a 2021 Octavia (new shape) then you have the latest (MIB3?) AMundsen. Might be a good idea to post a picture of your Amundsen...

I'd be a bit wary about getting a first service outside that car's marque's service circle if it was my car, if it was owned by a 3rd party, I'd be more wary about that as they might just consider that you are defaulting on your agreement concerning looking after their property while you use it. Ie for me, more trouble or potential risk than the money saving is worth.

If you demand "demist", at least with a similar VW Polo, all air is diverted to the windscreen and the chiller is switched on regardless if you had previously had the chiller switched off, this will be to maximise the demisting to the windscreen.

Never understand if I live until the Queen sends me a Birthday Card why anyone would want to make their car use more fuel and pollute the enviroment more when the battery has been specially beefed up to cope with the extra demands placed on it. And people wonder why in the last 6 commutes using with wife's Karoq 1.5TSi manual with stop/start active it managed a 63.2 and 63.8mpg over 27 miles. Try getting that with it disabled and see what difference it makes to your wallet. Over the last 4 weeks it has used just £40 of unleaded.

Thanks, this is what I had presumed but just wanted to make sure. I have upgraded to MIB 2.5 with Pawel’s help, the display that I received with the unit has had it though. I managed to find a replacement yesterday.

Right, IGNORE the names on the units, for example you would "think" an Amundsen + would contain bluetooth over and above the other, not the case either or can have bluetooth and or DAB. What you are looking for in either unit is the label has a MAC address which has figures on it, not 0's, if it has numbers then the unit has bluetooth built in. If it doesn't its not the end of the world, it can be added by getting the bluetooth module and loom which is plug and play physically but would need coding with VCDS or similar. Bluetooth modules on ebay all the time, most work with all models, just ensure you get the loom with it to. Is your steering wheel phone prepped ? As for DAB, then you can see which has it by the extra antenna connection on the rear, See images attached. Heaving thoroughly enjoyed my 18+months ownership of a grey (anthracite) Octy2 2.0 tdi 4x4 estate, during which time I have looked with some interest at the Scout addons, I landed on another Octy2 2.0 tdi 4x4 estate (thanks Colin) which is in need of a bit of fettling but not too much. But it's a Scout! It needs a rear wheel bearing (includes hub with ABS sensor so a bit wincy on price) to be sorted Thursday, has a slightly ticky tappet (may need a camshaft at some point but easy enough) and comes with a full towbar already fitted. Oh, and it's also (officially) grey (metallic blue to you). It got a new battery today as the existing one was a bit feeble. The drive is a revelation. My prior Octy2 is no slug (140bhp) and handles well but the Scout does it all so much easier. Maybe it's the 17" wheels (vs 15s)? The car is immaculate, and a credit to its previous owner who had it from new. My grey one was functionally excellent but had suffered some peripheral tuning to every panel thanks to the previous owner's spouse. Hmmm. Most of it was touch-in paint but I have a spare rear bumper to fit as it's a bit "tuned" in places. Our daughter and son-in-law have decided to add the grey car to their existing Octy 1 estate (also from me) so it's staying in the family. I guess you can tell I'm pleased Oh, and the Scout has been chipped to 180bhp. Anyone know where I can get some "FQ" letters in Skoda script for the tailgate badge?

Just a bog-standard 1.9tdi - 105bhp. Mind you, it's a nice example and was very well looked after in its earlier life. I offered my wife the choice of the 1,9tdi (blue) or the 2.0tdi 4x4 (grey) and she chose the 1,9 "because it's smoother". I'm not arguing There's so much one could say here, but for once in my life I'll refrain

The fact that 600bhp in a Golf R is possible with no internal engine mods required is testament to the inherent strength of the EA888 engine. Much as I would like 400bhp at least I can't justify the expense on hardware of getting there and my car is great to drive and the economy improvement means I'm in the sweet spot for me anyway if not you guys and your need for speed to quote "Days of Thunder".👍

Where do I get the membership pack? Mine is now seven years old, the longest I've ever kept a car, and I've no plans to change it in the foreseeable future with any future bills offset by reducing depreciation. Perhaps the "I kept my Yeti" Club will fill the niche role left by the declining membership of the 16" Wheels Special Build Club - I'm guessing we must be down to half a dozen or less by now. Watching the discussions on this forum it's interesting that it's seldom (if ever) Yeti owners make more than an inquiring look at other Skoda models before shortlisting then buying elsewhere. Kia certainly seem to be benefiting from there being no obvious Yeti replacement from Skoda.

i've got the same set of wind deflectors for almost 3 yrs now. really good and they slot nicely inside the window groves. no need for double sided tape on to the body work like other wind deflectors

Park assist is great for getting in and out of tight spaces. It really should be standard nowadays.

It’s become bit of a ritual every year unfortunately insurance company put up its premium ,customer shops around online,either changes company’s or goes back to original to get them to match others,the yeti was with LV under £200 for Fully comp , 2 named drivers And a protected policy I’m happy some people don’t shop around because by them paying high it allows me to get a better price likewise with house ins ,car breakdown cover,etc etc I’m probably paying less per year Now than 15 years ago when not bothering to compare.
