Recalled Again - software
'Cold weather' great new excuse, I wonder what happens in Norway or other really cold locations!! Most dealers seem to just plug computer in and if it says 'No fault' that's it, customer is wrong, even with interment faults!

Software
How did you get the undertaking prevention disabled? Thats exactly what i want to do, as I did it in my last Golf, but don't think I can change the software on this car using my reader?

Its a difficult one, its seems that there are so manny issues, and worryingly there seems no consistency on which software/firmware gets what faults that its totally hit and miss. I think my dealer is part of the problem beciause they have no interest in looking or fixing the faults (one simple, one intermitent) and are now covering their a***es because they forgot to look at one of the faults. If you have a good dealer go for it, eventually i am confident it will all get srted, I genuinely think its software issues but there is a lack of interest in fixing them until it hits the headlines via an accident or sadly even worse a serious injury.

My dealer did the MIB upgrade, which caused more issues, ACC and Travel Assist, but are totally uninterested in actually fixing anything. Their technical knowledge is shockingly bad on basic car functions. They can sell you anything…. But can not be bothered to understand and research problems. I guess customers are just a pain to them right now!

Software
I agree, but sadly the dealer are in complete denial! They never at any point asked why it’s an issue, they showed complete contempt. Worse is they acknowledged they had another customer with exactly the same issue that they managed to dismiss with ‘Skoda said that’s normal’. Not sure how that will work when they have an accident!

Software
Sadly having just got my car back the locag garage thinks the ACC fault is 'normal' behaviour and how its meant to work, staggering the lack of knowledge or staggering they think they can fob customers off with such dangerous rubbish. Latest software, latest MIB and still the ACC has issues 50% of the time. Its frustrating it will be fine for two wekks then half way through a journey it flips and thins it should be driving on the other side of the road!

ACC Braking when overtaking
Well the car has been in the garage all day... they phoned at 4pm and said it was 'normal that the ACC brakes if it detects a car in either the inside or outside lane"! Sadly they even said Skoda UK told them that! I was particularly unipressed and asked for email confirmation that they think a car on ACC should 'normally' brake and stop you overtaking a car in the inside lane 'as normal'. Then they got very defensive and said they will send a report to Skoda. What worries me the most is they tell people this rubbish which is dangerous, luckily I know how ACC should work, yes it should stop you automatically undertaking cars but not overtaking! They even said it did that incase the car pulled out infront of you! I had even sent them two videos of it at fault (braking while overtaking a car) and they said they thought it was normal!! Having not looked at the other Travel assist fault the car has at all, they then said that it was part of the other fault.... even though they said it wasnt at fault? No idea what next, they tried to offload the blame on another garage (even though they changed the MIB 4 weeks ago that has led to both of these faults), but as ever nothing, that car is still faulty an the 'experts' have no idea how its meant to work. Very frustrated, any ideas? Is there a contact in Skoda UK I can approach with this? I really get annoyed when being fobbed off and they think they are dealing with a clown who they can waffle to and hope they just accept their rubbish. Thoughts?

Hissing/crackle with infotainment off
Did you ever find out what it was? My Octy 4 is starting to do the same, sounds like radio interference but with radio on r off, very strange noise.

Octavia taken off sale (possibly)
Yes I noticed that, also might be me, but I couldn't see a way to get the Rear view camera at all on a SE L....

Delivery times?
A friend with a 718 GTS ordered 9 months already with no delivery date and trying to order a Range Rover but told 12 months may be optimistic, and a mates E-Tron which he has been told to order the replacement 18 months ahead (last week) Lease car.

Delivery times?
I very much doubt any positive news on chips will affect 2021, Audi, Porsche and LRJ are all saying 12 - 18 month delivery, at best, due to shortages and anyone wanting to get one in 2022 should have their order in already....... With absolutely no delivery time given. Every single manufacture has been affected, mostly their own fault as they reduced their chip orders due to covid and their capacity was taken up by other industries such as cameras (for PCs) which use large amounts of chips (the higher the resolution the more chips!) and saw demand surge, when car manufactures went back to increase their orders..... they had already been taken. Chip manufacturing has hardly reduced, but the demand is what is causing the issue from wider industries, which is not tailing off yet.

Octavia taken off sale (possibly)
Its odd, to me, but the Octavia has not been able to be configured all week, in the UK on the official Skoda website. Nothing to say why but it does not appear as an option in the configuration. Odd its been missing for at least 4 days now.

Travel Assist - Steering Wheel button
Hi, sorry another issue I am wrestling with (along with ACC not working properly) I don't get anything when I press the Travel Assist Button on the steering wheel, the one circled in Red in the photo. Does anyone know what is meant to happen when you press it? I.E what is displayed on the dash or what changes? Nothing at all happens when i press it whether the ACC is on and functioning, paused or off, the button sadly does absolutely nothing! I am sure it used to before I had the hardware fix for the SOS fault and when my ACC worked correctly, the manual does not really say what happens exept it turns the ACC on......

ACC Braking when overtaking
Sadly I have had the fix applied, I had a new head unit put in with the latest software a couple of weeks ago, it fixed the SOS issues but seems to have caused this problem... not ideal!

ACC Braking when overtaking
yes as I cant book the car in, I have been trying it regularly to see how its working and try and diagnose anything I can. Like you its not every journey but when it does start it stay in that mode for the rest of that journey. I drove 180 miles Sunday no issues with it... then Monday morning 390 miles into a 100 mile journey it randomly started again and was a complete pain for the rest of the journey, requiring the pedal touch every overtake, and as I was on the M25, it definitely did not stop undertaking it does not even recognise a car is in the outside lane at all, it only acknowledges cars inside you. As you say it appears to randomly decide the car is driving on the other side of the road irrespective of the GPS as the Navigation was all fine. Nothing in particular seems to trigger it, but its pretty obvious when it does it!! As soon as it starts showing vehicles on the left lane the problem starts... Such a pain, you just cannot rely on it to do what it should!!

DSG advice
I found this guide really useful a few years ago when I got my first DSG car.... https://www.vwroc.com/forums/topic/11881-understanding-and-using-your-dsg-box/ It helps to explain how and why the box does what it does.......

ACC Braking when overtaking
That could be said for just about every function of the car and most of its safety 'features', while clearly i can, and do, have to have it off due to its safety risks and hassle, it should work correctly and is a safety feature which improves the cars NCAP Safety rating (although it should not for my car!!). As a standard feature that works perfectly in other VAG cars it cant be that hard to get it to work in the Octavia. I also have a DSG car because I like them, I could do the gear changes but choose not to...

ACC Braking when overtaking
I did that in my golf but not sure you can with the Octavia 4. Software has changed the way you can access it.

ACC Braking when overtaking
Sadly I had that hardware and software fix, updating the Hardware and software a couple of weeks ago, this has only happened since then, and sadly not always, probably only 70% of time when overtaking.

ACC Braking when overtaking
Skoda UK, hopefully its just the sensor is misaligned or there is a computer setting that sets what side the car is on... but because it knows which lane the vehicle is in, it worries me that its another software fault...

ACC Braking when overtaking
Hi, just seeing if anyone else has suffered this with their ACC, when ACC on and on dual carriageway or motorway. My car brakes when it detects a car on the inside lane to me. This is really annoying and dangerous because it does it quite aggressively if it picks the car or lorry up late. The car knows it’s not in my lane as the ACC shows it on the left lane next to me but immediately uses that car (highlights it white and the car in my lane it was tracking goes grey). If I touch the throttle, it immediately drops that car and tracks the car in my lane and accelerates again. I have to do this quite a lot so the ACC is virtually useless as my car is a danger to anyone following especially if the road ahead is clear and my car slams the brakes on (I got flashed twice on the M3 today) they think I am brake testing them! I have the car booked in next week but not happy with this. I cant find any way to change the side of driving the car thinks (i.e. left hand or Right hand) I have an SE L without Matrix headlights so no settings there….. Any ideas would be helpful as Skoda were confused and seemed to know nothing about this. I have had exactly the same ACC in my last Golf R and it worked perfectly so I know how it should work!!

Software
Seems all very strange as mine went in two weeks ago and it changed form this: To this: It seems to (so far) fixedthe SOS and the dealer did so dont worry its a well known issue and easy fix... Fingers crossed!

Software Campaign Update
Well picked the car up today after its been in all day for 'software update'. They have changed something!! Below is the System Information before it wet in, and after it had done some over the air updates and it thought was 'up to date' with no waiting updates. This is what it is now reading after picking it up, note the part number has changed and most of the software..... Fingers crossed thats fixed the SOS and popping. In fainess to the garage they were excellent, said they knew exactly what it was and dont worry we will fix it.......
