  1. Greenline II (2013 Facelift - Had it from new!) and it rolled round on 100k last Thursday! Currently on 100135 Only major problem was the Water Pump about 20k ago! Just Tyres and Brakes otherwise!
  2. Noop... I've got a 2013 (13 plate) Greenline II Estate (facelift model) Could it just be a sensor has gotten damp (it's been raining constantly with sometimes temperatures of 2 or 3 C) It's weird that it clears if I turn the car off and start it again! (CANBUS isn't based on Microsoft Windows is it!!?? )
  3. It's happened twice now in the last 2 weeks... My Bulb Warning light is illuminated on the dash, and the message quickly flashes up on the maxi-dot for a split second, telling me that I have a bulb out! On both occasions I have gone round the car, and checked every bulb (including the license plate bulbs) and everything seems okay! Headlights (all 4x H7's - high and low beam, Rear light cluster and the front side lights too) DRL's, Fogs (front and rear) Indicators, Brakes and Reverse... every bulb is functioning as it should... I've not replaced any bulb with an LED equivalent, as I've had problems with the CANBUS throwing a flid before! On turning off the ignition, removing the key, and then restarting the car the error is cleared! Could it be a forewarning of a bulb 'about to blow' or could the bulb warning system be faulty??
  4. Been thinking about getting one of these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073XWRYNM/?coliid=I1K7T26Z4SSUP4&colid=26ONQ5VNIIAJH&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
  5. You only need to worry if it 'bings' up with a Red icon! Thankfully my Greenline has a gauge and Maxi-Dot, when the red icon showed 6 months ago, the maxi-dot gave me a warning message "Coolant Low" as my water pump had gone pop!
  6. My OnePlus 3T didn't even show anything on-screen (Android 8.0) but it did charge (albeit slowly)
  7. I was after an option that meant I didn't have to also plug a 3.5mm Aux lead and trail that down to the socket next to the Handbrake. I could just play music and have Navigation through the MDI via the USB (which I know works as I use it in the home) It did charge, but at a slower rate than the 2.4Amp lighter charger I have
  8. Update... Nope! Plugging my Phone in, via a USB C cable and the USB MDI adaptor (proper Skoda one from the dealership), the MDI didn't recognise my phone was connected, and just showed AUX like it does when I plug into the 3.5mm socket :(
  9. what sort of power is delivered to the phone?? My OnePlus 3T is a thirsty beast! I already have the Skoda USB female plug (asked for it in place of the iPod one that came standard with my Greenie's MDI) but didn't think you could connect a phone via it.
  10. I like the idea of the LED strips (you could also pick a different colour) and connecting to the rear of the front cluster! I might have a look at this!!
  11. yeah! it's the only part of the car that looks 'worn' even after nearly 100,000 miles! Gonna be upgrading my car to a Fabby 3 soon, wife is getting my greenie and she doesn't mind the wear!
  12. My bad habit it holding the wheel with one hand, and strangely it's my right hand in the position of the wear!! Depending on mood, I either 'push/pull' or 'wash the dishes'
  13. Nope! no rings, no false nails... just my big ole meathooks, and as I said, even though I'm an engineer, i draw pictures all day, so my hands are girlie smooth! it feels like it looks too! really getting upset with it, as it's the only worn bit of my car! even after 96k miles!
  14. don't know if there's another version of the 'Anti-Hijack' that locks the doors when turning on the ignition! mine locks at about 8mph
  15. I dunno how it's gotten so bad! I'm a CAD Engineer, and thus have soft girlie hands (drawing pictures on a computer all day) so I don't know what could have rubbed it sooooo bad! I've got about 96k on the clock, and it's only me that drives the car (apart from the odd Skoda garage person at MOT's and Services) I've been looking at the stitch on leather covers on Amazon recently! £15 delivered, real leather (not PU) options for different coloured stitching (I'll stick with black) might have a better look in the new year!
  16. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CTLSNNT/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Holds my OnePlus 3T, nice a steady in both Portrait and Landscape. Also, even in Portrait the top edge of the phone is below the Windscreen, so it doesn't obscure my view!! (mounted on the central vent closest to me!)
  17. Mind if I tag along on this question?? My Greenline Steering Wheel isn't looking great! obviously not made to last 100,000 miles... Don't want the extra controls, but Chrome trim, 3 spoke (or just the 4 like existing)
  18. Yeah, like MBC said, the 2x H7 projector lights are (in my opinion) brighter! My wife has the H4 lights and my Greenline has the H7's and they just seem to 'project' the light further! (both set up correctly by a specialist friend of mine) as for the wiring, I think the main part of the loom is the same, t then splits to the separate H7 connectors, don't now if it's done by plugs within the loom, or it's a whole new section of loom required!
  19. Pre 2013 Fabias (and some post) had a big switch in the fuse box also! which turns the DRL's off, some service centres are notorious for switching them off during services and MOT's and then not turning them back on! My 2013 Facelift Greenline has a mahoosive hole in the fuse box where the switch should be. but ,if I recall, after June/July 2013 if a car was fitted with DRL's they HAD to be live and working! so the switch was removed!
  20. He did ask if I wanted the two rear tyres (at £62 each) and rear brakes (£220) both advisories on the MOT, to be done at the same time! The tyres are at 4mm each and the brakes will do another couple of 1000 miles easy (this from a Tyre and Brake place I trust) so only the £590 paid yesterday... Thank god it's Payday next week!! Yeah! it was £39 for the MOT (fat fingers on my keyboard)
  21. Recently my 5 year old Fabby Greenline II had the Coolant Light ping up and the Maxi-Dot warn me about Coolant Levels, it's happened twice about 4 months apart, and I topped up (to the line) each time (about 700ml total) I contacted my local dealership, and it was booked in for 'Investigation'. So I dropped her off yesterday (and drove off in a nice new Fabby 3 with Bluetooth and all the toys) Got a phone call later that day, telling me after pressure testing the system (whilst they did me MOT which was due this coming Friday) that it looks like the Water Pump is knackered... and as it's driven by the Timing belt (which needs replacing after 5 years) they'd do both for me, at the princely sum of... £489 (incl VAT, Parts and Labour) I nearly fell on the floor at that point, he then reminded me the Investigation Charge of £51 and the £10 Courtesy Car (insurance) would go on top, and the MOT Fee of £69 would bring everything to £589 I love my car! (though after having this New Fabby with Bluetooth, I'd love to add it somehow) but it's costing me a fortune recently... I had the Front tyres done last month at £140 the pair!! plus the MOT gave me 2 advisories (Rear tyres and Rear brakes) but they'll last a little longer!! Still bombing round in the New Fabby 3 at the mo, whilst my baby is made better... it's amazing the wear and tear 95,000miles will cost!! What sort of Expenses have you guys had?? anything so expensive you've nearly had second thoughts??
