  1. Often the metal 'can' is crimped over the plastic end piece and can't be removed without trashing it.
  2. AMF engine? https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2004-225/1/129-129040/
  3. Yeah, you're probably right there. Only other things I can think of is the master cylinder or ABS unit as you have tried pretty much everything else.
  4. Is the auto adjuster working ok? The teeth on the adjuster wedges can become worn causing the wedge to not hold its position.
  5. I don't know. Sorry.
  6. I wouldn't necessarily blame the garage. The console bolts are notorious for seizing in the alloy console. It's not always possible to ease them out.
  7. Mine is on 70k and the chain rattles at idle, so yours will have definitely been rattling. I found that fitting the sound dampening pad on the underside of the bonnet from a vRS model helps to supress the noise coming into the cabin quite a bit. Most of the time I don't notice it now.
  8. The part number for the adjuster wedge is 171 609 705 (same on both sides). They have very fine teeth that can eventually become worn and cause the wedge to slip. The pip on the wedge does indeed have to face towards the backplate otherwise the pip will jam against the shoe web. The top brake shoe push rods are.... Left 6Q0 609 819 A Right 6Q0 609 820 A Source for part numbers https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/
  9. The bellows is only meant to be fixed at the top. Mine after spring replacement...
  10. Your cabin filter might be soaked as well.
  11. Yes, he makes great Fabia videos
  12. Pretty sure they plug into the electric window motors. See here at 1:57....
  13. Great work The 'official' way to lock the flywheel on this engine is to remove the engine speed sensor and insert a bolt that has been ground to a point into the vacant bolt hole...
  14. Not seen it done but maybe.
  15. The small bush doesn't seem to be listed separately by Skoda, as far as I can see, but you can definitely get aftermarket ones. I've not heard of the small bush failing before TBH. Poly ones... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Skoda-Fabia-MK1-Front-Wishbone-Front-Poly-Polyurethane-Bush-1999-to-2007/184168176986?epid=0&hash=item2ae1475d5a:g:n5IAAOSwfBlcPyjB Or aftermarket rubber ones... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suspension-Arm-Wishbone-Bush-Front-Axle-Front-FOR-FABIA-I-1-0-1-2-1-4-1-9-2-0/402474317368?hash=item5db556b638:g:wPYAAOSwRrVfcZCG I've no idea of the labour costs as I don't use garages except for MOT. Probably be cheaper just to bung a new arm on. Let's hope the threads in the alloy console are OK as they can be seized and strip and then you need a new console. The wonders of Galvanic corrosion - steel bolt/alloy console.
  16. Sounds like a charming fellow
  17. Polo 9n/9n3. Seat Ibiza MkIV. Fabia MkII. All bolt straight in.
  18. You can get a brand new one cheaper than that. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FABIA-MK1-1999-07-FRONT-RIGHT-DRIVER-ELECTRIC-WINDOW-REGULATOR-WITH-PANEL/254396676016?hash=item3b3b3937b0:g:g20AAOSwoPJdrskg
