  1. Indeed Must have just looked like two reds on TV as mac11irl has said. And you could only see it from the side. Thanks for everyone's input.
  2. Nice one, Lee! Not seen any of those before. Only difference is that this one definitely had two green and two red lights. Or at least it looked like that on TV.
  3. I know. It's bonkers. lol
  4. Just seen an item on the national TV news about some cinemas temporarily closing. I noticed a very odd traffic light at the outside broadcast location. It has four lights on one face - two red and two green. There is no amber. I've never seen anything like it. It is located outside of the New Century Cinema in Sittingbourne, Kent, UK. Anyone know what the score is with it? Is it a piece of art or something? Pic from Google Maps...
  5. I don't know mate. If you are fitting new springs and the top bearings are old they should always be replaced, otherwise it means taking everything apart again if they fail. It's just bad practice but doesn't surprise me from Kwik Fit. They should have advised you that you really should have the top bearings replaced for a proper job.
  6. You can't overtighten the top bearings. They are just held in place with the spring force. The bearings are separate from the actual rubber top mounts. Personally I wouldn't trust anything Kwik Fit say, but that's just me. In this pic are the top mounts and bearings at the bottom of pic...
  7. The top mount bearings should have been replaced with the springs.
  8. 90 degrees is a quarter of a turn. So you torque to whatever Nm it says and then do the quarter turn.
  9. Here's a video that might help you....
  10. Welcome to the site. Fitting a fully assembled new panel is easier. Any one off ebay is fine as they all seem the same. This was mine from ebay...
  11. Probably be easier to drain it first but it can be done either way.
  12. What car did ya buy? I'm thinking of getting a Toyota Aygo.
  13. In the yellow circle....
  14. Sandwiched between the diesel pump and the alternator I think. Alternator probably has to come off. The stat is a bit of a pig to get to. See pic in below post.....
  15. I made this tool for the idler pulley out of a spark plug socket. You just slide a bit of tube over the rod for leverage....
  16. I had to replace the idler pulley on mine as it started whining. Wasn't a rattling sound though. But if you ever have to replace the idler, the bolt is a left-hand thread. I have a feeling it will be your water pump bearings.
  17. When I did my timing cover oil seal I just removed the engine mount and jacked up under the sump with some wood inserted. You are supposed to use new engine mount bolts but I didn't bother.
  18. That's good news mate. Let us know what it's like after you get the new water pump on. How many miles has the car done?
  19. No worries Be sure to only run it for a short time as obviously you'll have no water pump. A minute or two won't harm.
  20. Yeah, just seen the other thread. Try running it without the aux belt on and see if the noise is still there. It might be the water pump, alternator or idler pulley.
  21. Great And is it running nicely?
  22. Driveshaft nut is part number 6Q0407396B. Size is 36mm, 12-point socket. A thin-walled socket is needed as the hub recess is tight.
  23. It will be fine
  24. Juat noticed it says in the instructions that if you want the joint to be removable at a later time you can smear oil on one of the sealing surfaces. I know you might have oil on two surfaces but I reckon you should be fine
