  1. The lights are just instead of having a water temp gauge. A lot of modern cars don't have them.
  2. Nope. The sooner you drive off the better. Just don't thrash it when cold.
  3. It's more likely to be a door lock microswitch issue if the indicators still tick as you said they do in another thread. All warning noises come from the same sounder.
  4. The cable on that side might be binding.
  5. Yeah, that earth cable is a proper bodge-up.
  6. Welcome along I always watch those too
  7. Yeah, they're all the same.
  8. Did you make sure the auto adjuster wedge was backed right off (up) before you put the drum on?
  9. I'm pretty sure that all Mk1 Fabias have a non-welded separate nut.
  10. Dunno what you're on about. My reply was to Wino who was referring to the 8 valve 1.4 petrol engine filter. And my username is TMB not TMP.
  11. If the driver's side lock is faulty it can affect the operation of the rest. There are microswitches inside that need to be working for the system to function properly. Also, bad solder joints in the lock unit caused by the repeated slamming of the door over the years can cause issues. The brushes in the little DC motor can get gummed up too. Microswitches numbered 1 to 4 here....
  12. Have you checked for broken wires inside the rubber door to body bellows? It's pretty common for breaks to occur there. They can sometimes make intermittent connection too. The break can even be inside the wire insulation. Sometimes the wires are very obviously broken, though. The connections at the plugs at the A-pillar connection station can be problematic too. The lock units can develop dry solder joints as well. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/473390-lockingunlocking-issues-and-probable-cause/
  13. Was just thinking that it gets pretty cold In Romania in the winter. It all helps.
  14. The higher CCA (cold cranking amps) you can get the better. As long as the battery will fit the box.
  15. Yes, the genuine 8v 1.4 filter doesn't have the nut bits, just a hand grip.
  16. Me too. I struggle with social stuff.
  17. I used to do that years ago before I had money to buy proper tools. Messy way to do it but it works
  18. I've never heard of a canister oil filter being fitted with an impact/air gun. Crazy.
  19. There were no Mk1 vRS estates made so the rear suspension might be different. It would be far easier just to replace the standard components.
  20. A mate of mine used to tighten his oil filters with one of those chain type removers, until I educated him that he was massively overtightening them and that the tool was only designed for removal. Funny really
  21. Yeah, the actual canister can vary between manufacturers, as wino says.
  22. Just checked the cross-referencing for you and the Mahle one is a direct match. Both identical thread size ( 3/4-16 UNF)
