  1. It can be a real pain but you need to find the wedge that is part of the adjustment mechanism, there are a few videos on YouTube that may help. Once you pop these up, the shoes will retract and the drums are a simple job to remove. They are accessible through the wheel retaining bolt holes when you have the wheel off. Once you have done 1 the other side will be a breeze. This may help, first one I found.
  2. You really need to have the car scanned for fault codes, this will give you more idea of where the fault lies. Maybe someone near you with a code reader or VCDS could scan for you.
  3. Any good for removing grills? http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/399096-retro-fitted-fog-drl-to-facelift-roomster-13-not-official-sk-method/?hl=%2Bfabia+%2Bdrl There is a guide on horns in this forum somewhere.
  4. Just curious, Did you ever get a diagnosis for this noise? Happened to my car again yesterday so any feedback would be welcome as it is annoying when you can not locate the source.
  5. If you search the forum for window issues there are lots of threads on just this problem. Most people seem to find broken wires in the flexi rubber boot between the door and pillar I believe. I think you can pull this out without any tools but you should check first of course. Example: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/404170-drivers-side-electric-window-problem/?hl=%2Bbroken+%2Bwires#entry4661176
  6. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/19804/P3348/013128 If you google your fault code, it may help explain what the code means. Possibly start by checking the wiring to the turbo actuator. Hope this helps.
  7. Just the wheel end end, the also did a re-alignment after replacement. Not saying yours Is definitely this but it does sound similar. The dealers will be aware of the issue.
  8. Could it be the track rod ends? My car did similar and it is a known issue of a batch of contaminated grease in the track rod ends. My car is 63 plate and had them replaced under warranty. Worth Checking maybe.
  9. Just love those chinglish instructions! (Although I must admit I can speak it quite well myself after a few too many!) Good luck with the fitting, it's quite straight forward really.
  10. My car does this intermittently, (if I am hearing it correctly that is). I would describe it as a few nuts or similar being left in a brake drum and tumbling around. It's definitely not that though! I can not locate it when the bonnet is open and engine running and as it is only occasionally there not been able to get the techies to hear it either. Hope you can get a diagnosis.
  11. Do you get the same interference if you plug directly into the "cigarette " socket, or just using the piggy back setup?
  12. Rear drum brakes sticking on after washing your car seems to be a common issue. Yours may have discs however.
  13. Was it fuse 47 you changed? There are some fuses in the engine bay near the battery on my car, 1.2 tsi, may be worth checking. Page 172 onwards. https://mediaportal.skoda-auto.com/resource/documentation/manuals/en/fabia/05-2012/manual/a05_fabia_ownersmanual.pdf Good luck!
  14. Thank you for your input regarding your issue. It may be of some help to other forum members as some point in the future. Hope it is cured now.
  15. Strange area I lived in then! Spotted the error but could not edit on my phone dammit!
  16. I had my car keyed years ago by two lads who lived in our road. They were seen doing it by a neighbour who did not wish to get involved with the family of the scumbags. They denied it when I confronted them and were backed up by the mother who gave them alibis. Some 15 years later they have now settled down and have nice cars themselves. Both of the lads have had there cars extensively keyed on a couple of occasions, strange how fate works.
  17. This may be useful to you help identify the items you need. http://workshop-manuals.com/skoda/fabia-mk2/chassis/front_suspension_drive_shafts/repairing_the_front_suspension_strut/summary_of_components_of_suspension_strut_as_of_01.09/ May have to find your car model though.
  18. This help? http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/169223-mk1-underseat-box/ Good luck. How much are they now by the way?
  19. Found this using a forum search, could be others too. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/92625-fabia-wishbone-bush-replacement-diy-guide/ May help a little.
  20. Just hope the accident management co is no A*****y, if the 3rd part don't cough up, they may come after you. Check it out on Google, just a heads up.
  21. Have a look through this thread, may help. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/327790-protecting-the-rear-bumper-from-scuff-marks/ Good luck.
  22. No idea where you could find pins but you may find rubber parts here. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=Skoda+fabia+tdi+front+caliper+repair+kit&_sop=15 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FABIA-1999-2013-FRONT-BRAKE-CALIPER-SLIDER-PIN-KIT-ATE-TYPE-BCF1306FE-/231100700663?hash=item35ceacd7f7:g:TR4AAOSwFNZWvFq- Not sure if these pins are suitable. There is a compatibility checker. Oh, not Lucas, sorry. Good luck
  23. Pleased you have got it sorted. The internal battery, if you have one, will be charged whilst driving. If you have a parking mode and you leave your camera installed, then it can record knocks that occur whilst parked up too. My battery only lasts for around 8 hours now though.
