  1. Hmm, as someone looking at buying a vrs soon I don't see enough to delay ordering and wait 5or6 months for that. I'd hoped for a bit more.
  2. I know my local dealer always matches the carwow deals, if you're looking at buying a car it's definitely the way to go.
  3. Ultramagnetic - sounds like what I was thinking of doing, please post again with the results of your efforts. I generally think the scout is still the best value for money but it's hard to see past a vrs!
  4. Turboman - the vrs deal you mentioned, 500 down 200 a month sounds fantastic, is that a skoda deal? Can you give me more details please?
  5. We had the same problem when ours was first registered, luckily I spotted it straight away. There was an issue with skoda wrongly registering them. Our V5's were sent away with a letter from skoda confirming they were sport editions. Don't know how you'll get on as 2nd owner, probably best talking to skoda uk. Be prepared to argue, they'll probably try and for you off. My argument was regarding insurance, they will use any excuse not to pay a claim and a wrongly registered car is a prime issue! Good luck.
  6. They've made it pretty clear they won't. My local dealers top guy has spoken to skoda who stated no vrs for reasons I gave above, also saying the current vrs just didn't sell well enough. We all know why that was but they just look at the numbers. Also it's pretty clear vw & audi continue to be the "premium" brands and seat are being given the "sporty" brand with the likes of the cupra etc. Thus leaving skoda as the budget brand. Not the way we want it but it's clear to see. As far as vag are concerned if you want a performance car there's plenty other options within the "family"
  7. Even a 1.2 tsi or similar with around 100hp would be a cracking drive! I hoped for a citigo vrs, then a new fabia vrs and we're getting neither. I'm really wondering what options I'll have when I'm due to change.
  8. I'm well aware of that, the point is they stopped the sport to standardise the range. The monte is available across the range as the "sporty" edition. Skoda has stated they won't make any more vrs versions as "milder" versions with the looks but cheaper running costs sell far better.
  9. Skoda has confirmed that no new fabia vrs will be made, stating they will be concentrating on version's like the monte carlo. The up gt has also been constantly put back & now looks very unlikely. Skoda also dropped the citigo sport in favour of the monte carlo. Chances of a citigo vrs? Absolutely nil imho
  10. Sounds interesting, anymore information? Could come over with a couple of ours Just found the post in the events page, hopefully be there!
  11. Yes sounds similar, bluetooth either wouldn't connect at all or would constantly lose connection. Same with music, would play then drop out. Don't let the dealer fob you off with some excuse, if it's faulty they should replace it.
  12. When we got our first citigo sport we had problems with the PID unit. Got it replaced after dealer confirmed no problem with the car or connection point. Worth mentioning - the replacement I was given didn't work straight out the box! So they can be faulty, glad to say we've not had any problems since. Remember it's under warranty as part of the car so dealer should fix.
  13. The wife's new one did it from day one, got me thinking so I plugged mine into the laptop and it ended up doing 3 software updates! After this I've not only got texts but far faster connection and updated media stuff. Has everyone updated their units?
  14. Spoke with my local dealer last week regarding the new fabia, the dealer principle was just back from a 3 day jolly to Spain to try the new model. He said the vrs question had been raised and the reply was a definitive no to a new vrs. Bottom line was the market isn't big enough. I'm another who had hoped to buy one as my next car, guess I'll need to see what their idea of a sports model will be.
  15. Wife's new black edition is noticeably quieter than our 1yr old sport models. Gearbox is smoother too :-)
  16. Our gap with Ala has the deferred cover for 1st year. Just ask I'm sure most do a similar thing as 1st year replacement is common. Also don't rush into it, you can take out gap anytime within first 3 months.
  17. C'mon then Scots owners. Who's up for a meet sometime before Xmas then? 1.bigdavy
  18. The few times we've been out in the 2 sports people certainly look twice! Especially other Skoda drivers! Weather was terrible today or I would have got a decent few pictures of the 3 together. Will need to wait until daughters next visit from uni.
  19. The rears look good, think i'll need to try to fit a set to my sport. Maybe a bit of sikaflex along with the clips just to be sure.
  20. My lucky lady collected her new Black Edition yesterday to go with our 2 sport editions Seems smaller to look at than the sports, don't know if it's due to being a 3dr or the sport stripes making them look longer  Really liking the all black look, not looking forward to trying to keep it clean & shiney! Now I get the red one all to myself, first thing will be a full detail and get some decent polish on it. Then some minor tweeking and add ons. Be careful out there, these things are addictive
  21. Is it just a locater pin? if so would it matter?
  22. I was looking at the 12.50 ones you show there. Look the same style as the citigo ones? Hurry up & buy them so I can see them fitted :p
  23. Personally I think it's a must if you've taken finance, you don't want to owe more than you get from insurance if a bus takes the side out your new car. As others have said though, do it yourself online. We used ALA for ours, paid less than £80 for return to invoice price. Dealers prices are ridiculous!

Thanks for the replies, still not sure what to go for. Professor, do you have to cut the console to fit the milotec one? Bilun777, how secure are the cup holder ones? As you mention you added tape I presume they'rea bit wobbly?
  25. If you want to fit a boot light may i suggest something. I fitted an led battery operated light that has a sensor so only operates when dark.I simply stuck it on one of the wheelarches, its very effective and the lights only cost me £8 each. Much easier than trying to wire one into the front light.
