My diesel doesn't do many miles. Usually just local journeys but with the odd long distance journey. Quite often though just doing short 5 miles stints. Trip computer showing just over 50mpg since purchase which by my calculations is fairly accurate. Saying that, last time the car started doing a regen, instead of heading straight home I went for a burst up the motorway just to get the regeneration out of the cars system. Your wife has obviously taken it to extremes.

Thats closer to what mine looks like. May just be the camera, but mine is slightly less prominent still.

Youve just made me go out and check mine now. It is actually there, but nowhere near as pronounced as any of the pictures on this thread. Also, the faint white lines that can be seen on the black section above, extend down through this grey section, getting fainter as they go further south. I think I can just see these on Gizmo's pictures. As i say though, the grey section is nowhere near as pronounced, and whilst I agree with Wanderer that his doesnt look right, mine actually blends in just nicely.

Mine has never had a band across the top like that.

Yep, the previous version of the XF did that a few times. People were constantly getting dpf warnings. Luckily the dpf in the Skoda's seems to be a much better design.

Yep. Ask them how they intend to compensate for your wasted trips and phone calls. They have messed you about too long. If they decline any form of compensation, make sure they are aware that their name will be plastered around, and not in a good way. Plus let them know they will be losing loads of business from friends and family. They don't need to know it May be untrue.

Not all cars suffer from the problems.

Well both of those responses would be bull, and if they do come out with any of them, make sure you tell them that. Don't let yourself fall for it, and make sure they know that you know. Skoda have had plenty of people complain about the problems, but they seemingly have no idea how to sort it. As mentioned by others as well, the word rejection needs to be mentioned.

Billy!!!!!! When you picking Mr Billy up? Enjoy. The last 5 series I Sat in was pretty comfy, although I think that had upgraded seats. Slightly different to yours I think? I can see why you got rid of the wife's Mk2 now. So that her car didn't upstage Billy on the looks front!!

If it's really annoying, then threaten the dealer with rejection. I wouldn't put up with any booming or pressure pulses. Especially if they weren't evident on any test drives. I'm definitely feeling lucky that mine has never suffered from these things. Even asked my dad the other day if he noticed any pressure pulses affecting his ears whilst in the car, just in case I am immune. But no, he has no problem like that.

Ha. Good on them. I'd have said the same thing to you. You cancel an order for no reason. Just because VW decided to keep with a non compliant engine for a while because the new engine seemingly wasn't ready. Yes they did wrong, but it makes little difference to most people. Certainly no problem for Superb mk 3 owners as you will never come into contact with the offending engine. It's people like you, kicking up an unnecessary stink, that has given the car industry all the reasoning it needs to offer less money for peoples current VW diesels. If consumers had just said it doesn't matter one jott, like it didn't to consumers, we may not be where we are. Well done to NCD. I'd have refused to give you your deposit back.

Have you asked the car if she liked the music? That could be the problem. Subtle hints from the car that she wants different music. After all, we have now worked out just how clever the car is..... For anyone thinking I'm mad think about this- I always play good music, and talk to the car every time I drive her. I have never had music cut out on me. Coincidence? Or just simply clever!!!!!

Check what the car says, inside filler flap. Depends on what you intend carrying in the car. However yes, those figures are the ball park figures you are looking at. Think mine are 32 all round. 34 also wouldn't be a problem.

Now that really is 'Simply Clever' Not only does the car as good as cut the call, but it ensures they get an ear full of s***e music (your words, not mine lol) as punishment for annoying you. I think these cars are cleverer than we give them credit for. Its like your best friend, always looking out for your best interests. Whatever you do, dont take it to the stealers. They will just be jealous you have such a good friend, and will try their hardest (yeah right!!!!!) to bring that friend down.

Apologies, dont know what made me think it was brand new. You are pretty much in the same boat as me as mine isnt much older. The suspension is a pain unless on lovely smooth roads. Its a shame as the car could be nearly impossible to beat with just a couple of extras- MultiLink suspension, and slightly better sound deadening (although this isnt as bad as some make out)

No doubt the standard suspension is poor, but you will find the ride quality improves over time. Mine has improved no end. Its like a different car suspension wise. It will never be brilliant, but it should improve a lot as it loosens up.

It's designed to cut out if it thinks you are fed up talking to the other person. It's called- 'Simply Clever'!!!!

I don't think anyone has fully managed to cure the air pressure differential problem. Some have found little adjustments that have helped, but it doesn't always help every car. It is one of those things that nobody seems sure of the cause or remedy. My car thankfully hasn't caused any problems for my ears, and I am more than happy with it, but it is one of the reasons I wouldn't touch another Octy. Just in case I got one with this problem.

Not going to happen. They will always charge less for a manual, if its an option. Jags used to be auto box only on the old XF. Come the XE and new XF, and a manual box is introduced. You end up paying more for the auto, despite, if anything, the manual being the new option.

At times you were sending loads of short texts to try and explain what one email would do. Its only at the end you keep bombarding him. Oh, and just because he shows as online, it doesnt mean he is constantly looking at his phone waiting for you. Crikey, you act like he is your wife. Some people have a life outside looking at their phone, even if it is connected to the internet at the time. Now he could well be a con artist, I dont know, but that doesnt get away from the fact you have gone the wrong way about it, and if you keep on, expecting him to reply within 30 secs all the time, he is eventually going to tell you to go take a run and jump
