1.6 coolant pipes needed
Same in 1.3 ,it's almost impossible to find the hoses connected to the heat matrix. I pray that i will never need a change of those two even the one from engine to the lowest part of radiator.

Ι have never read directions to ''leave it all night'' in a products of this kind. Usually is used when the coolant is hot and then you rinse.

In case that you can not find you can use aftermarket hoses like EPDM which stands for higher temperatures: Temperature range: -20°C to +120°C Temperature range: -20°C to +140°C Temperature range: -40°C to +210°C

Skoda Felica magnetic oil drain plug
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanFebi Bilstein OSP-24359 has 0,50 € I have seen many times the driver to say ''i want a new washer'' and the employee supposedly go back in the rack to take a new washer but: no sound heared, didn't fit the new washer in front of the customer plus when come out they had the oil drain plug in their hand lowered close to the body hidden with their palm (in puspose so the customer won't pay attention and realise the scam). Many times when the customer isn't present in the bill they charge him for a new washer although they install the old one up-side down...Crooks !

Cooling system problem (AGAIN) in my Felicia
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanReturning from the trip, i had 97187 and according to the TC-6 the Total consumption (Σ) was 13,9 ltr. Arrived inside the centre of the town and i had 97350 Km so the distance was 163 Km (with 2 persons and one click heavier luggages in Mountain roads, National highway and some heavy traffic till i reach my house), the Total consumption was 24,2 ltr so i consumed 10,3 ltr of fuel so the Average was 6,31 ltr/ 100 Km (44.767 British MPG) a very good result. I forgot to take an Average Ø photo because i was tired and suffered a lot to find a parking space. I made 30 kilometres in City traffic, refuel to the top, zeroed everything and now it's time for a Spring season test all in City. I don't expect miracles but the circle that began at 2025 will close when i reach the begging of the Summer 2026. I didn't took photos from the gauge this time in purpose because the Law changed here, this is an older (2025 Summer) but i noticed that at February 2026 in National highway the needle was one tiny click above the white line. Maybe the extra load or something else.

Skoda Felica magnetic oil drain plug
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanSome parts shop sell that washer about 1,5 euro because ''is better than the simple ones". 😄

Felicia pick up running hot 🔥
Ιn my case i had issues only when the coolant was fully warm, the needle was making some kind of ''jump'' up and down and drove me crazy, the culprit was some dirt collected in the side of the base of the sensor. After remoning and cleanit thourougly this phenomenon stopped.

Coolant sensors with Yellow ring always caused me problems, only those with Blue ring work as they should be (i have a/c).

Skoda Felica magnetic oil drain plug
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanΙ have many Copper washers (have use them in the past in extra oil pressure gauge) and some stores sell washers with a kind of ''O-ring'' inside like this ΡΟΔΕΛΑ ΜΕΤΑΛΛΙΚΗ 14mm ΜΕ ΛΑΣΤΙΧΟ JBMΤο πιο Πλήρες Κατάστημα για το Αυτοκίνητο But i don't know if i use them.

If has a/c he can turn it on immediately after the engine starts, the fan will start spinning and he could check the air flow direction.

Plus the wiring on scales to be in reverse, 2nd scale in low speed and 1st in high, inevitably the radiator fan motor burned prematurely. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/485671-bosch-radiator-fan-for-felicia-help-wanted

Skoda Felica magnetic oil drain plug
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanSome drivers say that they change the washer every single time the do oil change? Isn't this an exaggeration? On the other hand i have seen employees in oil-change stores go inside to the parts shelf (supposedly) to take a new washer and come back in a second which means they lie to the customer. I heard no sound plus they keep their hand with the drain plug + washer in the same low position coming out (as they go in) without showing the new washer of showing fitting it to the drain plug.

I had a similar problem: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/477921-skoda-felicia-weird-temperature-problem/page/3/#findComment-5375868 First of all check for leaks ,not by vision only but with a special tool in a repair-shop. Remove check and replace the thermostat sensor, some times a small amoutn of dirt can cause false indication in the cluster gauge. Remove any air bubbles from the system. Remone the old coolant and replace it with G12 (not G12 plus).

Skoda Felica magnetic oil drain plug
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI wanted it to stand out a lot, not just a little bit and a put some JB Weld epoxy glue (Temperature resistant up to 300 ° C ,Water resistant and steam test, Resists oils, acids and chemicals) in the bottom. Here is the final result: I will install this in the next oil change which means in few weeks hopefully with no issues. By the way, the washer is too tight so not removable. 😎

Skoda Felica magnetic oil drain plug
I wanted to do this many years ago but always something was happened and i was delay it but this year the time came for this, i will install a magnetic oil drain plug to have some extra protection ''just in case''. There are many of them in the market, some fancy from aluminium (i don't trust them) some stainless etc but wanted to do something by myself so i bought one from a Skoda parts shop send it to a metal-repair shop which has a lathe machine because in my mind i had the idea to implant a neodymium magnet which is very strong.

Skoda Felicia 1.6 gearbox oil check
The 9mm hexagon screw, then pull the metal plate (it's there for security reasons) and gently unscrew the cable. Be extremely careful to don't pull it towards the bumper too much otherwise would be ''unclipped'' from the gauge cluster. Here is the other end on the cluster. Inside the hard plastic hose is the wire with a square tip, take the chance to lubricate it a bit (the wire not the tip).

Cooling system problem (AGAIN) in my Felicia
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanThe Winter came so what's better chance to make a Fuel Consumption test now that i have new radiator and new coolant? City driving which means too much traffic, short routes in low speed etc the worst scenario for bad Mpg. 95962 Km in the Odometer and at the day of measurement was 96994 Km so the distance was 1032 Km (1031,4 in the trip meter) According to the TC-6 the Total consumption (Σ) was 100,4 ltr so the Average fuel consumption was 9,72 ltr/100 Km (29.06 British MPG) which is a fantastic result for City traffic for this old design engine ! 🤩 The Average Ø indication on the TC-6 was 10 ltr which is very close. The next test was few kilometres in City traffic, then in Highway (till 110 km speed only) and Mountain roads with 2 persons and some luggage, the weather was cold in the beginning some rain afterwards and sun with clouds in the end. First of all sorry about the dust, we had many rainy days here and no time for car wash, the traffic was a bit heavy sometimes and later in Mountain roads i didn't push the engine more than 4000 rpm due to rain. 97187 at the end of the travel (224 distance in the Trip meter) According to the TC-6 the Total consumption (Σ) was 13,9 ltr so the Average fuel consumption was 6,20 ltr/100 Km (45.56 British MPG) a very good result. The Average Ø indication on the TC-6 was 6,2 ltr which is identical.

Skoda Felicia 1.6 gearbox oil check
I have done it in my 1.3 no problem at all, just be gently with the screw beside-slacken it and pull the cable grabbing it from the base out also gently. Do not pull it with force otherwise many problems can occur. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/320528-replacing-felicia-speedometer-cable/ Also be extra careful to not pull it out from the socket of the cluster gauge!

Should there be a handle here?
I will vote for this, a strap like the one that the 5th door (trunk door) has. I strap with a rivet would fit perfect.

Car door lock barrel change
I know that store, first was Autodily itself and was accepting only Bank transfer payment, lot of delay and fees. Now things must changed. I found those rings from Uk at 20 euro total cost, a new set of Locks has about 23 euro and except those 2 rings you can keep some parts ''just in case'' for the future.
