D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanNah, after of what happened to my expansion tank no more risks especially in chemistry. I don't know any other Felicia with G13 except yours, no experience for the compatibility, long term use etc.

D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI can not duplicate the Γ shape on the hose which in on the throttle like he did. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/514344-engine-cover-do-we-really-need-it/?do=findComment&comment=5790539 If i could i would remove it completely, it's not useful to me.

''Glitters'' inside my coolant expansion tank
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanFirst impressions: i left the car to the repair shop, later the mechanic said that immediately the additive start to make something like "chemical reaction" and after few hundred meters (to get the coolant hot) saw some dark spots on the expansion tank (now has distilled water and the additive which also has clear colour). So there is still some muck left inside the system, i will know more in the next days because due to hot weather i took my motorcycle to go to work.

''Glitters'' inside my coolant expansion tank
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI don't wanna mess with the heater core especially when it's positioned in such an awkward place. When i finish with this project i will replace the coolant expansion tank and i will take photos from inside, no i will not cut it as the previous because it's a job that will create lot of detritus in my balcony.

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanYes but the car was cold, the flap must be closed but as @Papez has said in the past that flap may times get's stuck in one position because the wax that used as a ''thermostat" has a leak. From another car, take a look the inclination of the air filter box and ho much space that tubes covers. On the other hand i have seen dozens of videos with guys making holes beneath the factory box only because the sound would be ''better", more ''roaaar", i not interested for that kind of things.

Three G11 coolant mixtures, boiling-cooling time comparison.
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI drain the old coolant while was still hot ,i did in purpose so the hot coolant would circulate inside the heater core. I added the product with distilled water only, i will do at least 30Km distance, drain, i will add distilled water only, drain and then the G12 plus distilled water.

Felicia - where is the air condition drain hole?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI have found this: Is the draining hole? The video is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSiRd1pcQY8 take a look at 0:09

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Forman@Thefeliciahacker Why you asking me thing that you already know? I make 2 tests to see compared to last year (almost same period) the Fuel Consumption, no a/c then so in purpose no a/c now. I have found from another Felicia the stock air filter box. Inside the mechanism is stuck, the flap is semi-open so the car takes some hot air inside the throttle even when does not need it for exampel Highway. I have never regret that i have removed it.

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanHere are the results from the first test, home-work-home, no boulevard no Highway just plain City traffic with traffic lights etc in average 20 Km speed. As you can see i just parked my car and i took the photos. Average: 10.7 ltr per 100 km Total: 2.5 ltr for 24.4 Km so 10.24 ltr or 27.59 Uk MPG. As you can see the results are no matching and i have explained why, nevertheless they showing that the FC had dropped dramatically compared to the one from previous year (same season) and they are the best for an at least 5 years period. My car AT LAST is getting improved, if i didn't had those 2 bags in the trunk plus the weight from the insulation the results for sure would be better but i am happy with what i have. I wish i could do another test but i have the ''G12 project" in my mind and i don't think i have the time for another one with the existing G11.

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanThese began from the 80's, you were unborn and you remain at least for 20 years. Those years the "bumpers" where made from polyesters and wire for chicken coop fence, ask your father to tell you how they looked. Mine is stock.

Three G11 coolant mixtures, boiling-cooling time comparison.
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanThe flush product arrived, in purpose i bought one that is mixed with water after the coolant drain, i don't want to add anything in the coolant again, enough trouble i had. I will make few kilometres with the heat on (that's for the heater core) and then to the repair shop while it's stii warm for the drain.

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Forman"The term, Restomod, is a portmanteau of “restoration” and “modification”. It refers to the process of restoring and upgrading classic vehicles with modern components and technology. In recent decades, restomods have gained immense popularity among automotive enthusiasts. This is because they’re perfect options for those who seek to preserve the timeless beauty of their vintage car while enhancing the performance, comfort and safety too. Typically, a restomod involves replacing or upgrading various components such as the engine, transmission, suspension, brakes and interior features." That's the spirit !

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanTomorrow the results from the first rest, City traffic (usual not hard as was in the 2nd), no boulevard no Highway, just a home to work route for about 25 km. I wish i could do more but with such a high temperatures it's difficult and the a/c use will ruin my Fuel Consumption. It was a small but useful test.

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanThat's why the other countries are centuries ahead of us in GR which the latest 20 years we have adopted the German way of thinking: "Buy a new car, don't touch anything, go only to the official repair-shops, pay whatever they charge you and after 5-6 years sell it and buy from us the new model and do the same with it". You have compromised with this i don't.

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanFelicia air filter box designed from Czechs 40 years ago, i didn't change the diameter or the length of the hose that brings air to the throttle, i didn't touched the throttle itself. I already had that cone removed for many years and now i just refined the air flow.

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanIf i done something and works i will mention it in public, i don't i will also mention it, there is no reason to hide anything. for example i had 48mm exhaust pipes and muffler, i had gain in high rpm but loses in low-middle, i admit it and when i found the chance i ask for 45mm installation, i lost something in high rpm and also mention it. I haven't see any Felicia driver to work inside his air filter box, i took a risk and i succeed, i admit that in 3rd gear and 2000 rpm in uphill the previous ''situation'' was one click better but i had to make a comprimise. I cut a part of that plastic cover, i always hate it, now i have better access to lubricate the throttle wire plus that cover and one plastic hook were pushing a bit that cable, not it's more ''free'' and i can also lubricate anytime i want the part of the cable that it's visible from the plastic hose till the bushing.

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanOnly if are not made from quality steel. Are wrapped (till the lambda sensor) for about 20 years, checked 3 times till now for rust etc, no problems.

Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanNo, i have a custom one from A to Z. The @Thefeliciahacker said that i have lost performance but i proved to him that i haven't. The headers are wrapped with titanium tape for lower temperature inside the engine bay.
