  1. Wot ? ( Even if mine is just a TDI ) ......... Not telling you where I live !
  2. "As long as Ireland stop any flood of BYD, Geely, SAIC, TESLA right hand drive cars flooding the 26 counties. Reminds me I must check the Northern ireland Tariff for its rates on Chinese EVs." Would anyone believe it ? ... trading cars between RoI and NI has got easier ( and cheaper ) in recent years ( still not as simple as pre-Brexit )
  3. Was ( and still am ) astonished to find that certain ( non motor related ) product can be imported from EU into NI as if NI was in EU ...... its almost as if NI is ( yet another ) EU state.
  4. "I want to see the M3 SR drop well below £40k " M3 SR = entry level M3 ? I'm in Euroland, price seems to be there already for us https://www.tesla.com/en_IE/inventory/new/m3?arrangeby=plh&range=0
  5. Fair that M3 will cost more than MY ??? On a broader note, why most EU EV manufacturers stating that they are not in favour of this carry on ?
  6. I see tariffs being referred to as "provisional" and vary by manufacturer Present indications suggest in Europe the Tesla M3 will be more expensive than Tesla MY ( some sort of anti-dumping measure ... )
  7. An Austin mini van ( with the metal sides cut to take fixed windows ) a bit like ~
  8. What do y'all have to say on LFP based batteries ?
  9. I have this issue in an area at the rear of my combi. Any suggestions as to brands to use / avoid ?
  10. Well Holy Gawd ! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mace_Head_Atmospheric_Research_Station Is it, per chance, running off a diesel genny that just happend to be underneath the 'air' samplers ?
  11. @G.B. : That might be part of the reason so many VAG s/w updates have to be done @dealer ( The traditional car makers seem to have terrible struggles with the concept of reliable remote software updates. In fairness, if there is even a slight suspicion of a remote upgrade crapping out then its best that its done by & at dealer )
  12. Congrats on finding that FWIW my '02 TDI at 160kmiles is on the original clutch ( long may it stay that way - cross fingers )
  13. Mr Morgan was at this eighty years ago
  14. @Lee Wonder what you have to say on the boat loads of 2nd hand cars ( Mostly VW & Jap brands ) that are shipped from Japland for sale in Rep of Irl ... 😃
  15. Do any of ye know what the title of this thread is ?
  16. Dont count on it .... this happened Down Under ( didnt it ? )
  17. Dont know that there are any plans to let the Cybertruck escape from the U S of A
  18. I would give it a modest thumbs up* when used with the 20+ year old ASV TDI variant on short / medium lenght runs ( no need for it just doing long runs ) . "Main use would seem to be eliminating water in fuel" - Dont think so....at least not on old TDI units. It greatly reduced the smoke output ( enabled many units to pass the annual car test )
  19. "on my MK1 it was a radio cassette with CD multi-changer in the boot" ... thats the one 😀 ( 21 this year - the car that is ) "It was being a passenger in a then newish Mondeo....." ... I'm probably about to hit this stage. ( I'm still inclined to get out and ask for directions 🙂 )
  20. Dunno what world y'all live in. Sounds wonderful, even if ( because ? ) it aint the Octy 1 TDI world that surrounds me.
  21. I wonder if sometimes this common fault might be down to insufficient voltage getting to the non functioning deadlock motor. Has anyone tried to unlock a stuck deadlock with the engine running sufficiently fast to have the alternator fully up ? ( at a guess 2500+ rpm might be plenty fast ) OP, TMB's pic on "To remove the connector plug, push the whole plug upwards to relieve strain on the catch while also pulling the tab downwards to release plug." is very useful and important. If the Fabia is like the Octy then the connector is hidden away in dark corner. In fact, I found getting that connector off was the most difficult part of the entire escapade !
  22. At least that what happens with a Mk 1 Octavia....................and I'm just presuming () a Mk 1 Fabia will be similar
  23. You have to un-deadlock it first as per sepulchrave or ( if lucky ) prt57 Once its undeadlocked then you will need to get the door card off regardless of if its to replace the lock or just disconnect the connector to the lock
  24. For those that are broke ( moneywise ) and dont mind foregoing central locking and dead locking functionality you can just disconnect the electrical connector going into the lock ( crude, but at least the thing wont go and do an unlockable deadock again )
  25. Y'all are probably right . . . But I hope not :) Can I use your replies as evidence that I should migrate south for winter ?
