  1. How do you manage to get bad economy on a diesel? Driving a 2.0 TDI feels like free miles compared to the T5 Volvo I drove before it. I'm getting double the milage and paying less for fuel.
  2. The correct files are usually still there, you just have to scroll a little farther. Or you can get rid of those invisible files by using a third party app like OptimUSB.
  3. Just one of the reasons why they ended DAB broadcasts here a decade ago.
  4. Limited circumstances? From the tests I've read it's in use about 75% of driving (on VWs). The only situations when an ACT engine uses all four cylinders are when accelerating or in autobahn speeds.
  5. Seat+mirror memory is a must if you have two drivers who both drive regularly. Makes life much easier.
  6. The manual states: I'd interpret that to mean a couple of minutes at the most. Half an hour seems a little excessive.
  7. I don't think it's quite that long, but it does stay running for a while. And I've selected the option to have it running by choice. I drive a lot in stop&go traffic and in those conditions it's a much better way of generating heat than the engine.
  8. I get all recent calls from the phone, not just the ones I've made in the car. But that's it unfortunately. I'd like to be able to dial at least my favorites without touching the touch screen.
  9. Not just that, it provides heat until the engine has warmed up while driving as well. I just today noticed how seamlessly it works. I stopped at a stoplight and the Stop-Start system switched the engine off before it had warmed up. Yet there was hot air coming through the vents and I noticed the fuel consumption screen displaying 0,1 l/h. Without it i suspect the engine would have had to stay running until it was up to normal temperature.
  10. Can't comment on the Bolero manual, but it's on page 7 of the Columbus manual. Touch screens can work provided that they are positioned so you don't have to reach and that buttons stay at the exact same positions so you can rely on muscle memory instead of vision. These however don't really come true on the Octy. The screen is a little too far away from the driver and some "buttons" seem to switch places in different modes. (The "button" for muting parking sensor audio for example.)
  11. I've found that denim blu is surprisingly forgiving in that respect. It doesn't look dirty until you get fairly close. Very different from our old dark blue Volvo. Luckily so, since I'm not allowed to get it washed until thursday. (No washing for the first three weeks after getting a protective coating applied.)
  12. So an electric tailgate isn't standard (nor are footwell lights) but alcantara seats are in the UK? I'd really love to hear Skodas reasoning for the differences in spec between countries. Here in Finland the electric tailgate is standard on Elegance, L&K, RS and Scout.
  13. That "something" would be ACC, it gives you a separate stalk for the cruise control so the indicator stalk only has one button. (It also makes changing cruise control speed a lot simpler.)
  14. *crosses fingers* SmartGate is neat, but I could really use SmartLink.
  15. The passenger side mirror does dip if you have memory mirrors and turn the mirror switch to the passenger side mirror position and engage reverse gear.
  16. It takes less than a second. Just press the button at the end of the indicator stalk and then press down the thumb wheel on the right side of the steering wheel.
  17. I've found it to be quite nice in the milder setting. It feels like the lane markings are on "higher ground" through the steering wheel. Not jerky at all IMO. And because it only turns on at about 60 km/h I don't find it bothersome on smaller roads. And as to the difficulty of turning it on and off. It takes a whole two button presses to turn it on or off.
  18. Next time you could try rebooting the Amundsen (hold the power button until it reboots).
  19. Possibly, I haven't tried it out since the App is over 600 MB and I don't have that much free space on my iPad at the moment...
  20. Option code PG0 for the black and PG1 for the aluminum. Here in Finland PG0 is standard on Active, Ambition, Greenline and RS; PG1 on Elegance and L&K. Switching one for the other is free on Elegance and costs 145 € for Ambition, Greenline and RS. (And isn't possible on Active or L&K.) There seems to be no mention of the Scout. I guess it belongs in the same category as L&K, so PG1 is standard and not switchable.
  21. Roof rail color is an option you can pick while ordering, if I'm not mistaken. (Black or aluminum.)
  22. A forklift turns like a tanker compared to a rear wheel drive merc... But yeah, coming from a Volvo the Octy feels like it can turn on a dime. Volvos seem to require an olympic sized stadium to do a U-turn.
  23. But no matter how it goes, it still seems like a very 1990s way of updating software. This is a feature list of a software update Tesla is pushing out (over the air) in a few days: https://imgur.com/a/x7SVg And they regularly publish updates with feature lists this long, for all their customers, automatically, free of charge...
