  1. He probably means this one. <- A second quicker from 0-60 mph than the vRS TDI. And to answer Gromle: My guess is looks, variable steering and bigger brakes. Those are the only advantages I can think of.
  2. Yeah, it's not that much, but DMUs usually aren't that powerful compared to their electric counterparts...
  3. It easily gives a couple of more bars in a low cell reception area. I have no idea why they market is as Bluetooth+ in the UK. Here in Finland Skoda just calls it the "Phone Box".
  4. At least where I live a "normal" Yeti driver seems to be an elderly person (or couple), who bought it because they can't get out of a normal height car...so that's definitely not normal Yeti driver behavior.
  5. According to the manual the seals are covered with a lacquer that's damaged by silicone products, so I'm not sure if it's smart to do that... (I've used them on all my previous cars though.)
  6. The parking camera is especially great. Makes backing up into a tight space a breeze.
  7. Because there might be reprecautions that don't show up until after the warranty has run out. I haven't read anything about changing oil in the gearbox, but at least the VW engines seem to have oil change intervals that are a little too long for their own good. A recent road test of a VAG 1.4 TSI engine (ACT model) on a Finnish car magazine (TekniikanMaailma) revealed that when it comes to engine oil, the VAG recommended oil change interval is actually too long (30 000 km) and by that time oil quality had gotten so low, it had caused one of the turbo bearings to fail. Hence they recommended a 20 000 km oil change interval. The bearing had only just started to fail by the time of the second oil change (60 000 km) and they suspected it wouldn't have caused a catastrophic turbo failure until after the warranty period had run out...and it would have gone unnoticed until then, since disassembling the turbo isn't exactly standard procedure during regular maintenance. So changing the oil a little more often than recommended might save you a lot of money and trouble in the long run.
  8. I've noticed that in addition to looking nice the color has the added benefit of not looking dirty the minute you get some dust on it. (At least when viewed from a bit farther away.)
  9. Isn't it the DQ380 and not DQ280? I believe they use the Nm torque figures for numbering and not lbf.
  10. Men don't ever grow up, their toys just get more expensive. :p
  11. I've been swamped at work so I haven't had much time to play around with it, but it seems to have a lot of potential at least. Definitely a neat add on for a techie.
  12. It's a third party solution to emulate VW software diagnostic tools. But it can do some things even the dealers can't. http://www.ross-tech.com
  13. That would be awesome, since I already have SmartGate and would love to be able to use CarPlay as well.
  14. I prefer the wet 6 over the dry 7 just because of the added durability.
  15. Whoa whoa whoa! Wen did CarPlay appear on that page??
  16. I Walked around the dealership today waiting for them to swap the tires and it appears it's about a 50/50 chance.
  17. Those saved the chrome rims on our Volvo on a couple of occasions.
  18. Got the new tires today, and they feel great. I'm surprised on how good the feedback through the wheel is. Noticed another neat feature today. I was listening to a podcast on my phone (via bluetooth) when I came to my destination, turned off the ignition and jumped off. Later when I returned to the car, the podcast started playing from the exact same spot when I drove off. Neat!
  19. I really liked the look of the H generation Astras, and their handling (especially with FlexRide) was great. I loved chucking that car around a track.
  20. Controlling Bluetooth audio via the steering wheel controls works fine with my Columbus and iPhone at least. I just use USB for charging.
  21. The automatic AC also probably opens vents after you turn on the power. There are so many of those little sounds in a modern car.
