  1. We all did DIY fixes on the door seal back then. It was a part that was ineffective when brand new! Pull it aside to let the water out. If it happens again trim the rubber. Sod paying the stealer to fix a design fault. Old threads on here should explain exactly what to do.
  2. Williams launches good looking car in smart colour scheme... With no engine cover or sidepod sponsors at all... Worrying?
  3. Plot thickens at Dynamics. Flash Shedden coming back to BTCC.
  4. He's a 4 time champ. Clearly Hamilton respects his talent; So does his new billionaire boss. That said, on recent form I think he's very lucky to have got this chance at the Silverstone squad. I hope he finds his speed and destroys Lance, but if he doesn't, I fear it could turn out like Damon's farewell season with the same team. However, I really think Champions should retire from the top rather than drop into the midfield like this. (And that's where I see Team Green. I think Mr Stroll's lofty and admirable ambitions will never be realised but hey, it's his money to burn)
  5. In fact Jordan only lasted 2 races in gold, they were yellow by round 3 in Argentina.
  6. It's very dull. And the sponsors might well complain about their logos lack of visibility. Remember when Jordan completely changed colour scheme mid season because the gold colour was poor on TV?
  7. Weak colour scheme on the Mercedes for me. The Alpine (Renault) looks far more distinctive. Max is only 24. When he gets in the top car he could be unstoppable.
  8. Cammish splits with Dynamics after rumours that Honda are withdrawing works backing. Maybe Matt Neal will delay his retirement now to partner Dan Rowbottom in the Honda's? Also Jelley has the 3rd WSR seat and Rick Parfitt Jr the 4th Hyundai.
  9. I know it was Andrew Benson, and I normally treat his writing with a pinch of salt, but the BBC speculated after the cancellation of Hanoi 2021 that the race would never happen in Vietnam. This would make the unused circuit even more useless than those in India and South Korea. That said there was news this week that F1 is still negotiating with the organisers, despite their figurehead being jailed for corruption and spying.
  10. Yes Hanoi looked good, but it appears to have exceeded even Yeongam or Buddh as a white elephant.
  11. Yeah Autosport ran that story 2 weeks ago as well, but F1.com (official) haven't yet added it to the schedule. It was a great race last year. Hope it happens
  12. Yeah Autosport ran that story 2 weeks ago as well, but F1.com (official) haven't yet added it to the schedule.
  13. Has Portugal been confirmed then? The statement 2 weeks back was a bit ambiguous. F1.com (the official site) has not yet added it to the schedule.
  14. The length of the cars is more to do with the aero rules. Porsches 962 had the drivers feet moved back from the 956 for safety but it wasn't 5 feet longer, more like 4.5 inches.
  15. Yup the C4 was 4.1 metres long. The current Mercedes 5.7 metres. These hybrid cars are behemoths.
  16. Sorry, no idea about Skoda guarantee terms, both my Rapids have been SEAT badged versions - but I have swapped dealers during the guarantee period owing to moving house.
  17. Nice looking car and good spec for an early car...fogs, climatronic, mfsw. I can't believe there's still one out there with watery doors. The drain holes had excess wax blocking them I think. Also the early cars had badly fitting rubber seals on the bottom of the doors. These can be cut slightly to allow water to escape. There are many threads on here how to do it back in 2013/14/15.
  18. When you plug a g7 into a usb it doesn't I think automatically show the phone content on the computer. You have to go into settings on the phone and choose the USB option you want.
  19. Regarding the extreme size of current F1 cars; The gorgeous, successful, but ill fated, Ferrari 126 C2 shown below was over 4 feet shorter, and the later C4 was smaller still, being more than 5 feet shorter than todays Merc.
  20. Yes, should have been this year but for Covid causing the 20-21 chassis carryover. That said, some teams have obviously made major changes to their cars, so I bet they all have. Standby for protests against teams that perform well again.
  21. 2022 will see the new aero concept and the start of the engine freeze. Also the "restrictions" on windtunnel and CFD time - the teams at the top of the Constructors will be allowed less than the backmarkers, hoping to close the field up. I don't know how they will police shared wind tunnels though? (RB/AT and Ferrari/Haas) So the competitive order could get shaken up. 2025 is the date of the new power train rules, but it looks like being a hybrid again, although with simpler energy recovery.
  22. Just checked - the Mercedes is said to be 5.7m long and 2 metres wide. That's 70's Cadillac territory!! In fact to put it into Mercedes-Benz context, longer and wider than this: Thats huge! Please bring back little agile F1 cars with the new 2025 rules.
  23. Launch pic Mclaren. I know Norris is little but current F1 cars are the size of a small bus!
  24. I wish. Toyota seemed to skip some environmental testing on the model we had. All 3 Land Cruiser Prados died when the temperature stayed above 49C for a few days. I got very sick of jogging to the garage in that heat to borrow jump leads every other day.😆
  25. There are a couple of forums filled with rumour and fake news from failed Dutch racers that make me laugh a lot. F1 never has beens, Lammers Doornbos Albers etc etc speculating about Mercedes replacing Hamilton for 2021, exclusively spilling the beans on what's gone wrong with the deal, and obviously their mantra of "anyone could be champion in the Mercedes". Well boys, only if they're driving one.😉 I think the Dutch F1 clique are starting to worry that if Russel is the future for Mercedes, Max might just never get his foot in the door there. It is pretty unthinkable that Max won't be champion at some point, but many talents of the past didn't get into the right team at the right time so who knows?
