Piquet won 3. Does that make him "great"?? Not convinced. Some real "great" drivers won less. Ascari, Clark to name just 2.

I just saw Max onboard footage...Hamilton appears inside as Max is turning in, so the Belgian goes full right lock to block/crash him. Very 1997 Schumacher vs Villeneuve.

Just watched the feature race. The team whose driver is always hyper aggressive on lap 1 are seemingly very upset that it didn't go all his way this time. Maybe he shouldn't run the opposition off or break their front wings at turn 1 so often? I spent the whole race willing the Ferrari on, but it wasn't to be, as Charles lost at the very end to a Mansell-like performance from #44.

Rns315 Amundsen GPS map stuck
I cant remember the if the 315 is the same - but the newer one (MIB2) will centre on a map touch and stay there until you touch the correct on screen button to toggle the map to normal mode. The Compass button on mine changes the map centring setting.

Installing Speed Cameras on The Amundsen MIB2 - Free Database and Quite Simple to Do!
Oh well. I really appreciate your work compiling it. The missus got lost yesterday, so that inspired me find out how to do a (free) MIB2 update to the newest maps (mine were 5 years old), and whilst looking that up I found your thread too.

BRILLIANT @bigade1 Years ago I bought your 1st 2017 database file off eBay, so I hope it was from you and not some other bugger ripping you off. Thanks for the latest update.

1. Australian GP cancelled, so there's another vacant spot on the schedule. Where do you think - China maybe?? 2. Does Hamilton signing a new contract mean he's written off this year as it's looking like a lost cause already? I think he would have quit if a possible 8th title was likely this year. 3. Does it also mean they'll be keeping Bottas? Having chosen Hamilton for 2022/23 will Mercedes bring in Russell or make him wait another 2 years?

Agree, give them a stop-go and make it really hurt for a second offence, But I didn't really think Perez vs leClerc 2 was a penalty anyway, and Norris vs Perez certainly wasn't...

Mercedes have resigned Hamilton for 2 more years. On the basis of today's performances they should maybe have bought out Norris' contract and signed Russell too?

So... RedBull made big fuss about an engine freeze, and as a result the next gen engines were brought forward to 2025....now RedBull doesnt like that and wants it postponed to 2026 again. The reason for the freeze is that RedBull will be building their own engines next year as an independent... oh no they wont! Honda have confirmed that the 2022 engines will still be built at Sakura. Sounds like R B have been lying all along to freeze Ferrati and Mercedes engines to their advantage. Reports this week also reveal analysis of Hondas latest upgrade shows a 13bhp increase, even though the power freeze is in effect .

It's taken a while but Aston Martins sponsors have finally caught on to the very poor TV visibility of the colour scheme. BWT would prefer to go back to pink, and indeed they say Cognizant aren't too happy with the current scheme either. Team Boss Otmar says they're looking at changes, but the car will stay green for heritage reasons.

How reliable have your Rapids/Toledo’s been long term?
The build of the original Rapid hatch was patchy true but from the introduction of the Spaceback things looked up, and I see a definite improvement in build quality between my two. I don't mind the odd few rattles and squeaks, I mean Rapid & Toledo are cheap as chips so that's expected, but mine both had major failures. #1Brand New 2014 1.2 TSI. Actuator & turbo replacement at 2.5 years/26000 miles. Car did about 300 miles a week A- road commute. Never thrashed. Why did it break? #2 Brand New 2017 1.0 TSI. Actuator & turbo replacement at 2 years/15000 miles. Same commute but spending more time out of country so not doing so many miles. Never thrashed. Why did this one break? Sure our old tech 2015 Ibiza 1.4 16V never went wrong, but 2 out of 3 is pretty poor? Will I ever buy another VW group car? Only if it's 1000s cheaper than the alternatives, and even then that's just a maybe...

Disaster for Turkington at Brands Hatch. Out of the possible haul of 67 points, he scored just 2, and that on a weekend where BMWs won 2 races out of 3 and got a 3rd place in the other event. What was going on? Whatever the issues, he's dropped 39 points off the championship lead and 36 off second place. Looking to see him bounce back at the next meeting.

On-off 2021 Turkish GP back on...in October this time instead of Singapore. Turkey currently a red list Covid state, so we'll see. A great track, I'd like to see it happen.

Mercedes great season continues... Hamilton loses fastest lap to track limits, and Bottas grabs a 3 place grid penalty by spinning in the pitlane😂

Engine designation 1.0 MPI.
The 80 bhp one was terrifyingly slow in a loaner, but since it was an FR labelled SEAT I think I had assumed it was a 110/115 just like mine and attempted a similar overtake to those I could normally achieve safely.

Even as he left the pits Mercedes were still telling him he was 1.5 seconds to the good. This isn't the first time their strategists have been way off. But honestly they had missed their chance to pit him on the previous lap. Its starting to remind me of when William's took pole everywhere and Benetton outfoxed them tactically at almost every race, was that 94 or 95?

The highlights didnt make it clear. How did RedBull jump Mercedes at the stops? Should Hamilton have pitted the same lap as Verstappen? C4 were a bit vague.

Mercedes cant make the soft tyre last a whole qually lap. Verstappen must be favourite for pole tomorrow.

1.0 tsi 110hp - any high mileages already?
Thanks AJ. You can call it bad luck, but it's bad design more like. A trawl around the various VAG forums will show you that Turbo Actuator failure is a regular occurrence on the 1.2 TSI in SEAT, VW, SKoda, etc - but I was more surprised when the much more modern 1.0 did it too. I've never heard anything bad about the short-lived engine variant you have, indeed I'd much rather have that than the 1.0, but the previous (pre 2015) 1.2 was somewhat notorious. This retired gent has had 2 fail on brand new cars inside the guarantee period and is unimpressed. Hard to say this, given that I aspired to own new VW group cars for a long time, but they less reliable than anything I've had in the previous 40 years. OK... except the MG Metro. That did its turbo at about 22k, but in my defence I was 21 at the time and thrashed it

Any favourite lager or tea? As the Mercedes driver futures are all over the internet again, Ocon signs long term deal elsewhere, just like Norris did. Must have been finally told "Non" by Wolff. Do we think Bottas will last the season? Baku was a truly terrible performance.
