  1. I usually get about 520 miles to a tank, but I fill up once there's about an indicated 50 miles left
  2. Congratulations, you've chosen the best colour - IMHO. The dark brown leather goes well with it, and I too had initial reservations but was very pleased when I saw it in the flesh
  3. I'm currently enjoying a week at Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps. The Yeti seems to be the car of choice here as about 1 in 10 seems to be one, with quite a lot of Panda 4x4s also. Unfortunately I'm not in mine to enjoy the twisty mountain roads. However I was surprised to be given a Golf 4motion TDI at Salzburg airport from Europcar when I'd only hired a basic car. Not a bad car now I've got used to sitting lower down again. There's a particularly good mountain road which goes up to about 1600m which is practically empty possibly due to the 6 euro toll and is a hoot to drive. Spectacular views. We've also been up to Hitler's Eagles Nest but that road is coaches only from Obersaltzburg. A truly fantastic experience with the last 120m being reached in the brass/copper elevator.
  4. I'm 6'4", 16st and have long legs. Initially, I found it a little to get comfy in my Yeti having come from an Audi A4. However, I was trying to replicate the Audi seat position which was fully back and fully down. I've found the best position is fully back but pumped a couple of inches higher than bottom. Being tall, I used to suffer from lower back problems but in the 18 months I've had the Yeti I've been trouble free.
  5. 'Kinell, that's expensive!
  6. Slightly off topic, but still about storage, I'm impressed by the level of thought Skoda have also given to the wine lover... For the occasional tipple, the door pocket perfectly accommodates a single bottle for a spur of the moment purchase. Whilst the committed drinker can enjoy the delights of the additional boot recesses each side which also accommodates a bottle per side in perfect safety... :-)
  7. On mine, there's a pen holder in the glove box. On the inside right hand side of the lid
  8. It would be a real shame if they're not carried over into the new model. They're so versatile. Went on holiday last week with 2 up front and child seat in the back. The other 2 rear seats were set bolt upright and the side seat slid forward so we could fit loads more luggage in. I think it would be a mistake for Skoda to drop them.
  9. Yes. For me it was a 1999 Impreza Turbo which just had to be dark blue and silver wheels. Bought it brand new. Moving on 16 years it's now a jungle green Yeti.
  10. I've had mine for just over 12 months now and my comments are:- - Loads of interior space and very comfortable as I'm 6'4" - I used to suffer from lower back pain but have had no issues for a year now due to easy entry / exit - Higher driving position and visibility is great - Handling and pep from the 170 is a delight - Feels nimble and agile despite the elevated ride height - When our family of 3 go camping I can take out 2 rear seats for loads more room - It's like a Tardis Niggles are:- - Has had a few rattles which has taken a while to track and cure - The interior door plastic feels hard and cheapish. I was spoiled as a previous Audi owner On the whole I'm delighted with the car
  11. They're being snapped up. 4 sold now! You couldn't make it up... Lol
  12. Wonder if they'll do one in urban jungle green...
  13. That's one smart looking motor car. I'd certainly consider one especially the one with 187bhp. My wife has a Seat Ibiza and it's a very well put together car, so this interests me.
  14. Just came across this video of Yeti in snow wearing chains. Quite slick:-
  15. The 'real' car looks like a cut 'n shut, with a clearly visible vertical join line down the rear doors. The reflections give it away. Must be just testing out a stretched platform.
  16. I'd add mudflaps and reversible boot liner. And probably drop heated seats presuming it has cloth seats.
  17. Clue's in the ;-) wink.... Just being light hearted with this old revived thread.....
  18. Can we have some other manufacturers also please? A lot can change in a few years... ;-)
  19. My rear rattle was cured by blu-tacking the middle seat belt buckles into the roof recess. I'd previously lined the recess with felt but that didn't cure it 100%. I never have 3 in the back so it's never used. It did drive me round the bend trying to find it. They do seem really prone to rattles. Fantastic in all other respects though.
  20. Prior to the Yeti I'd been a very happy owner of an 07 plate Audi A4 avant. Had it from new and loved it as it fitted my 6' 4" frame. After nearly 8 years of ownership I wanted something new but more rufty tufty, so I naturally looked at the new shape A4 Allroad. Oh dear! It was far smaller in the cabin compared to my older A4 and the boot seemed smaller too. Plus there is nowhere to put your left foot other than under the clutch pedal. I found the Yeti far more spacious (for me). Only downside with the Yeti (coming from Audi) is the cheap and nasty rattly plastic interior. I've spent hours tracing and fixing rattles.
  21. Hi Urrell, Did your TMC work from new or did you have to get the firmware flashed to work? My Jan '15 Yeti has never worked and despite the dealer trying to fix it for a whole day remains non working. I just can't be bothered with another trip to fix it and will attempt to have it fixed again when it's due a service. Pity Skoda don't make the update publicly available and I'd do it myself.
  22. Looks like someone has done it here:- http://www.rolands-bauplaene.de/bauplaene/campingausbau-skoda-yeti/ It's in German, but the pics look good.
  23. I used four black felt pads and pushed them into the gaps between the clocks and the dash. This stopped the rattling for me. Other rattles were stopped by lining the armrest cubby hole with felt sheets plus I also felt lined the recess in the roof where the magnetic seatbelt sits. Pretty annoying for a new car, but I really like it in all other respects.
  24. I too was dubious about the L&K leather until it arrived. Any photos and brochures give it the appearance of being far lighter than it really is. In reality, mine at least, it is very dark brown. Looks good with jungle green to my eyes.
  25. The fact that they're replacing injectors implies that they are doing more than simply removing the defeat device itself. I will want to see if these mods have adverse mpg and performance consequences before proceeding.
