  1. The recirculation duct collides with the manifold, too? That's probably the reason why 1.9D was never equipped with factory AC... Only Alex evaporator box fit around the intake.

  3. There's speed sensor 191 919 149D, that fits on gearbox output. What about late Polo 6N / Pre-facelift Arosa? They have Felicia-like Non-CAN cluster with large warning light section in the middle, which could be replaced with a display. I'd like to help, but I have no experience with sending stuff abroad.. You might ask on Czech Feliciaklub forum or Facebook page.

  5. The test were made on a car with 60hp engine. We talk about car with a 150hp engine - that's already gamble outside the scope of the tests. You already answered: I said before, starting with the engine swap, the car is not safe for the public road and everything is driver's responsibility. If you don't have such resources, keep the car stock. Every modification should be tested, even if it's based on "patents" that work for others. Only certain path is to keep the car stock. Any modification using non-factory parts (and even some that use them) is an uncharted territory. But Ford calipers and disc combinations are atleast documented solutions.

  8. And if there isn't? Trying to stop 150hp Favorit with stock brakes? We are talking about a Favorit with swapped engine - such car should be never driven on a public road anyway. Only way to make it legally safe is to certify it as a whole. I wouldn't even consider "kits" as the safest option. I have seen countless of "certified" damper/spring set that didn't differ between hatchback/combi or engine variants, even though "inferior" stock suspension does.. The driver should know how his car, but not from other drivers. I have seen countless of advices from other drivers to remove pressure limiter/weight regulator from a Felicia. Is that safe? This really isn't about used parts, more about brake settings - especially F/R balance. Late Favorit and Felicia is already mix and match of parts from the factory - fronts are Ford Sierra, Rears are MK3 golf, ABS system is from Polo and main cylinder for ABS is Audi (iirc). But they are set up to work together. This has to be done individually on a modded car.
  9. You shouldn't need brake upgrades on a stock car, but what's your choice once you get twice as much power? Ford calipers are tried and tested solution - they are basically same Girling model as ones used by Felicia. Only thing that varies is source of brake discs.
  10. Empty button controlls are used only in retrofit Alex/Diavia units. It wouldn't work for factory AC, as the recirculation flap is controlled by a vacuum switch. Talking about recirculation, @vucko1011 , does Felicia recirculation duct lineup with Favorit body?
  11. Thanks for explanation, I thought that effect of the variable compressor would be more noticeable. So golf uses a different mount? Another question, how did you solve the bottom engine mount in the Favorit? Did you use Felicia subframe or something else?
  12. Looking forward to this. Favorit with 1.6 16V and AC - that'll be like RS Skoda never made Btw, do you think that variable volume compressor from Golf would work with Felicia system?
  13. iirc, Mondeo had 54 or 60mm front pistons, Polo GTI also has 54mm, too, according to my quick search - 54mm is same as Felicia, so I think that it should work perfectly. 60mm could cause some issues with brake balance with Polo rears.

  15. This sounds like the ignition module. It consists of two ignition coils, so the engine runs on two cylinders if one fails. Bad module is often sensitive to moisture because of cracked insulator, have you noticed this behaviour? Intermittent failures can be caused by the crankshaft sensor - diagnostics should show some error in this case. Last thing is the fuel pump - does this happen with low fuel level?

During winters, temperature swings around the freezing point, which are the worst conditions and corrosion already killed most of Favorits and Felicias, Skoda didn't figure anti-corrosion until facelift of MK1 Octavia and Fabia (even those have some problematic spots and MK2 Octavia is worse again)

  18. Answered before.. The crankshaft fits with mods. 1.6 doesn't use any Polo mounts, it's mated to Skoda gearbox through adaptor plate. He'd need Felicia donor and then change whole engine wiring, as 1.6 uses different engine management. It is possible, there are turbo'd Skodas with 100kw+, but it's not easy to make a program that won't blow up the engine.
  19. The block fits onto the gearbox, but flywheel has different pattern for crankshaft sensor (and it might be larger, too), which is an issue if you want to run injection. On the engine side, the mount on the coolant pump is different, but I've seen modified Felicia housing to fit Fabia pump. It's also possible to fit Felicia camshaft and chain cover with some modifications - that would result in more power, as Fabia has pretty mild camshaft settings. https://skoda-virt.cz/cz/clanky/motor/6223-zastavba-motoru-fabia-do-742/ (this is for Estelle, but Felicia engine is quite similar on the chain side) In any case, getting more power from Felicia engine takes a lot of work
  20. Not without modifications, it's too large around counterweights to fit into felicia engine block. The flywheel pattern is also different, iirc and axial bearing is on different journal. You'll also need Fabia pistons, they are shirter to compensate for longer stroke. It'd be probably easier to swap whole engine.
  21. It's just mistake in the store, it happens. Pickup is usually not considered as part of the Felicia line, but Fun is included there, although it's derived from pickup. Maybe that's why it's included in the compatibility list.
  22. 1) the rear beam is not interchangeable. While dimensions and mounting points are similar, hatchback/estate has coilover dampers, so there are no spring cups on the beam itself. Regarding the VAG parts, only stub axles are comatible with VW models. The pickup was also sold as Caddy Pickup, so try to look up that model, too.
  23. Thank you for this, very interesting read. I didn't know they had microswitches in heating/distribution knobs, that's more advanced than the original solution. And the battery bracket for RHD market is interesting, too. I wonder, if anyone has ever see one installed 😄
  24. yep, I think the most complicated part will be figuring out driveshafts. There were EDS equipped Felicias, which had different inner joint splines (supposedly they used differential from a VW gearbox), but I'm not sure if they can be found and how'd they fit in the MQ200
  25. That's why there are limiting valves/regulators on the rear axle and three different piston sizes Good thing is to check configuration on a car of a similar weight (Polo 6N or Ibiza 6K) and do some math to make sure that the brake force balance will be in the same ballpark.
