DAB into Skoda superb 2 combi
Been trying to get to my Superb estate’s aerial. I pulled the seal around the boot lid and the rear pillar covers. The headliner won’t budge downwards more than a cm or so. Not enough to get my hand in. Is there a knack or something I am missing? It looks like it will move better if I pull the rear handles and the C pillar covers. Still figuring out how the C pillar covers are installed.

1.6TDi Fuel Filter
Ours was the same when we picked it up. Will be doing much the same. Poor design and would be rectified if they angled it or simply didn’t have a donut shape in the top to fill with water.

Unknown noise.
Guessing it has been over one large pot holes!

My MIB2 install with DAB/antenna upgrade
Got the fakra wires to the rear of the car along the roof. Just have to figure out getting to the blasted antenna nut and wires without folding the roof liner and creasing it.

My MIB2 install with DAB/antenna upgrade
Apologies I have hunted but can’t find a guide on dropping the roof liner to access the roof antenna. Specifically the C covers, and enough room to get my hands into the antenna base to swap it. I am putting in a new antenna and running two wires to the head unit. can anyone point me in the right direction? I have got the rear pillar covers off but the roof liner doesn’t move much at all. I don’t want to damage it.

Amundsen MIB STD2 infotainment system with Android in Superb II
Been installing mine today. Waiting on roof antenna so I can get the DAB and GPS wires in. My roof microphone goes to the Bluetooth unit under the driver’s seat. Anyone know the part number for the cable from the roof mic to the radio loom?

OEM numbers
I haven't pulled a part yet that's not got the part number on it on a sticker or moulded into the plastic. Have you pulled the lamp holder and had a look? Is it this? https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/n10130001-light-bulb-hb4-eu-22884.html

Amundsen MIB STD2 infotainment system with Android in Superb II
Just to confirm... If anyone else gets the adapter of finest Chinesium (like this one I have: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B078SRXGT2). I've bought the same one and can confirm that the radio side of the adapter you do indeed need to move the pink and brown wires across form their original position to where I have pointed with the screwdriver. They also need to be swapped around as the polarity is incorrect in the shipped product. original wiring as it arrives, screwdriver to where the wires need to shift to wiring complete, can be done with a small jewellers screwdriver, white plastic block pops out and can be readily re-pined.

Dashboard air vent removal
Just done this myself. Made a tool from an old busted screwdriver (Heated the top with a gas torch and vent it over) and hooked the vents out to fix a displaced vane. Popped the front grill off rebuilt it and popped it all back in.

New Superb owner..
Apparently the cam or timing belt is good for 120k or so. There’s a few threads on it (check threads for figures). Short version is that the belts are only recommended to be changed every few years in the UK whilst the rest of the world is the other side of ten years of average driving. If you want to ensure it is in good condition you can always pull the cover to have a look at it and photograph and inspect the belt. Ours is a five speed too (Greenline), the six speed Seems to be a FL thing. I get 62mpg combined now and just drive gently, the rpm seems just fine.

MIB STD PQ radio touchscreen issues
Well I was caught in the catch22 that I could likely replace the screen but as soon as I did anything to the unit was unable to send it back and at a cost of probably £50-100 for a screen and the work to fix it and then code the radio I may as well send it back and start again. it does appear that the non nav and nav units share the same screen across the VW/Škoda/etc range but parts really somewhat rare on eBay. Once I have my refund I can pickup a new unit.

MIB STD PQ radio touchscreen issues
Can’t see any means to calibrate the screen and can’t get into engineering mode without connecting VagCom to the test wiring harness (if that’s how it is done). Anyone know a good repair guy for radios? Suspect the digitiser/tft needs changing. I could do it I guess if I could source the piece and there was a guid somewhere for the disassembly of the radio. Currently exploring the suggestion the courier has dropped the box and hurt it!

MIB STD PQ radio touchscreen issues
Tried whilst holding the case on either side with one of both bands, no great improvement sadly. I wonder if there is crap in the bezel/tft area that's causing issues. I may well look to see how the screen surround comes off so I can get in there and clean it all. Had a quick dig around to see what version and installs are in there.

Lemme go out and give that a go in a moment, does that help with issues?

MIB STD PQ radio touchscreen issues
Apologies for the poor video, one handed in the workshop in my free 5 minutes before dinner. Just bought this and powered it up to test it on a 12v loom adapter before install and found that the touchscreen is very tetchy and as far as I can tell half the screen isn’t responding to touch correctly if at all. Have contacted the seller as it is clearly an issue. Anyone had this themselves or know if it is even repairable? Sorry for poor vid I was rushing to test it after getting back from work before sorting out the rest of my family chores!

Invisible gearknob legend
Not a fan of our local place sadly. If I can find the part number I can then source somewhere sensible.

Anyone know a source for the exact same part for a 5 speed? (without using TipEx to cover up the 6th gear?)

Amundsen MIB STD2 infotainment system with Android in Superb II
I have the factory Bolero. The dials poke through the faceplate, it's the newer style fit. Mine looks like the bottom one, not the top.

Cheers sourced one. What are you guys doing for the DAB antenna? Have you changed to roof fin or plumped for the stick on window aerial?

I sourced a Skoda Yeti radio from a 2014 model, part number 5L0035680E. Hoping I can grab the matching gateway as well. Where did you get the Aux bits and adapter cable etc for yours? I have the Bolero unit which is coming out to be replaced by the new one. Just wanted to make sure I collected the right bits now as well as hooking up an DAB antenna somewhere. Need to find an auto tech to sort the radio before I plug it in though!

Posts on the VW retrofits of the same sort of upgrade mention removing the old Bluetooth module from the gateway list and physically disconnecting it. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php%3f7236914-MIB-2-Retrofit&p=109167033&viewfull=1&=1 there’s also a discussion about the microphone. from the Rosstech wiki https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/3621/page-3 I did a Discover Media MIB2 retrofit on a 2010 Passat B6 which had RNS510 with voice control and the mic still didn't work. The problem was from the quadlock adapter - the pins were inserted in the wrong place. On the car side of the quadlock adapter the pins for the microphone were inserted in positions 6 and 12 instead of 1 and 7 and on the MIB2 side of the adapter the positions were correct but the + and - were reversed. I moved the pins on both sides of the quadlock adapter and now the mic works.

Does the new radio use the factory microphone installed in the roof liner or do you have to put a new one in?
