  1. Kenwood made a Skoda specific set of units, they work with the maxi dot and have an interface box apparently that comes with them. Believe it is the DNX line. It looks decent and pretty OEM. https://kenwood-electronics.co.uk/car/oem/skoda/DNX525DAB/ The MIB STD is the way to go for something that looks the part. You just need to find one that’s priced reasonably and get the CP set and coding done. It’s a bit like the A-Team though you need to find someone who can offer advice or do the head unit programming for you.
  2. Been doing lots of research myself to weigh it all up and figure out the correct part numbers. Then it's a case of speaking to my local dealer or a reliable garage to see if they will do the component protection bit for me for something reasonable.
  3. Which model Whispbar fits the Estate rails? is it the S55?
  4. Ah so it is just the wires compressing on the rear? I am weighing up the PQ style upgrade against the JVC alternative at the moment. The cost is about the same.
  5. There is a small hole in the end. Looks like the “nipple” end has been rubbed a lot. insert bad jokes here.
  6. So this was rattling around the inner boot lid cover. Any ideas before I bin it? just installed new rear camera for dash cam and was curious what the rattle was since we had had it.
  7. Does the unit hook up with the MFD display or the factory Bluetooth at all? just curious how well it works. We have a stock Bolero that’s rather dull. In fact if you are getting rid of it... have seen the videos on YouTube it looks decent. Sent you a PM.
  8. Is there a backup battery in the alarm siren or something like the Audi's ? (https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/audi-a4-b6-alarm-siren-replace-nimh-batteries.90361/) Found that thread above and it sounds awfully familiar!
  9. Sorry to raise an old thread, but did you ever find out what this was at all? I have had exactly the same sort of weird 1-2 second beep coming form the back of the car every few minutes in our Superb and I can't thin of what it could be other than something up with the tow bar or reversing sensors.
  10. Here's an odd one, 3T Greenline Superb 2011 manual gearbox with rear OPS reversing sensors. Have noticed a weird single beep 1-2 seconds every 2-3 minutes when driving coming from the rear area of the car. It's not the reversing sensors but not a dissimilar tone. I have turned off the radio and Bluetooth to my phone just in case and it was still there and even there when I turned the engine off and stopped. Anyone had a similar thing at all? If it was coming from something in the car that wasn't car related it would be like something telling me that battery was flat on something battery powered. I am stumped, no error lights on the dash board, nothing appearing on the MFD, just me in the car. Anyone had this? There is a tow hitch fitted to the car but the electrics are all good and in good condition. The beep doesn't coincide with anything operational in the car, it was doing the beep on the motorway and when stopped parked.
  11. A quick check shows loads for £100 or less. It is a straight swap of the module under the seat. I did it with my Octy years ago. obv I don’t know what model number you are after but... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123519409558 I managed to get mine working after working out the kinks of premium and the media player options.
  12. Looking at the design there should be a plastic hat or bushing part in the bell crank that the lever pushes on. Whilst I know I should be buying the newer style kit (from what I can see) https://www.dieselgeek.com/products/super-pin-for-mk6-vw-and-audi-seat-and-skoda This does look like a much cheaper solution https://www.dieselgeek.com/products/first-gear-getter-for-vw-mk4-golf-jetta-new-beetle It's just that that's for the older style gearbox and I am not sure that that bushing will fit in. I guess I am going to have to measure the gap, it's only a small plastic bushing that has a t shape cross section. I guess I could turn one out of a solid piece of nylon. Looks easy enough to pop the mechanism out to get to the side ball joint:
  13. Very interested... but I need to sell our old cars first before I can afford the splash out on the unit. As I have just bought the Superb. I have seen them for 300-400 and was planning on doing the CP and coding myself to save some cash. I do see that yours is the latest version though so worth the extra cost. what are they like when hooked up to an iPhone? Fancy a mk4 Golf or e46 330d in part ex?
  14. Oh it is a 2012 Greenline Estate. Thank you for the link. looks like I need this kit or an equivalent: https://www.dieselgeek.com/collections/vw-shifter-bushings/products/super-pin-for-mk6-vw-and-audi-seat-and-skoda have searched but can’t see anyone that has done this; well mentioned it.
  15. Been digging and believe it is similar to this kit https://www.dieselgeek.com/products/first-gear-getter-for-vw-mk4-golf-jetta-new-beetle
  16. Anyone know the part number for the bushings for the five speed manual gearbox? I am after the plastic part that sits under the shift gaiter and is in the lateral movement pivot point. Specifically the shim or bushing part that sits inside the left to right pivot. I have attached a photo. It is the part that has changed to yellow cheese on the left of the shifter.
  17. Has anyone repaired scuffs to their alloys themselves with any decent results? I am looking to repair the kerb rash to all four of the Spectrum alloys fitted to our Superb (done by previous owner). My plan is to sand the scratches down, and then paint and lacquer them but I am curious about paint codes etc or if I should just take it to a professional to get them done and save myself the agro!
  18. Did you manage to get this fixed? I have a similar issue and can't get the bt-audio button working.
  19. Did you get anywhere with yours? I am in exactly the same boat, back to Briskoda after a few years and wanting to update the stock Bolero on a 3T Superb Greenline.
  20. Bought a new car (2012 Superb 3T) and just found this thread and working out the lost of parts I am going to need to put the MIB2PQ in. Does anyone sell units set up ready for a Superb on Briskoda now? I have a stock Bolero and want DAB and AirPlay to work with our car. I have a Rosstech unit in the garage still which I had for my old VRS before we sold it so I can do some coding. was hoping there was a guide for the software updates and dash firmware etc.
  21. I am looking to fit a MIB2 PQ to our Superb 3T. I have VagCom p, other than hooking up a DAB antenna and GPS, how do you add the USB socket? I can’t see a guide anywhere.
  22. So pickup our new wheels this week. Found a Superb Greenline 3T estate. Decent history and service history. Just purchased new rubber mats for it and now looking for the best solution to update the factory 2012 Bolero to a Skoda unit that supports AirPlay. glad I still have my old (genuine) VagCom kit still from my VRS to help out!
  23. Thanks, didn’t know about that issue. is there a way to see if a VIN or reg has had the emission recall done, or is there a way to roll back the software if it has been done?
  24. Has anyone got any advice for buying a used Greenline? Years ago we had a lovely VRS, but now coming back to the fold and after a high MPG estate. If I can get a Superb on budget that'd be great but I think realistically we are looking at a Fabia Greenline or Octavia Greenline in the 4-6k price range with less than 100k miles on it. Has anyone got any advice for things to look for and be wary of in the used car market on the 1.2 and 1.6tdi models?
