  1. I've been using this:
  2. And the tuning firms are claiming to remap this to 135bhp! http://www.venturatuning.nl/chiptuning-volkswagen-golf-7-1.0-tsi-110-pk.html
  3. So has anyone had their Up/Citigo/Mii remapped? Is anyone in the UK actually able to do this?
  4. Yes, but it's an expensive option and radically increases the running costs.
  5. Review of new Audi A1 1.0 tfsi in Autoexpress in this week's magazine http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/audi/a1/89685/audi-a1-10-tfsi-sport-review
  6. The bulbs do seem to blow quite often, and there's nothing on the dashboard to alert you. I had 2 blown bulbs replaced at my last service - I hadn't noticed.
  7. I'm struggling to make sense of that site. I guess that's a shopping hook for a citigo but it doesn't actually say that. What's this? http://www.shop-auto-welz.de////::544.html
  8. I've just seen the latest Auto Express survey. Online version here: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/best-cars/driver-power/86712/best-cars-to-own-in-2014 This is the first year the Citigo has appeared and it's only the rating for performance that means it fails to take the number one slot from the Yeti. It is the highest rated small car, and the best overall for running costs. This isn't an exact science though, as the Up! also makes its first appearance - at number 22!
  9. I get this too but only if the car has been standing in heavy rain. It is a weird sound I agree.
  10. One or two good deals around on the Mii Toca - I like the way it looks, good equipment list and think the Seat alloys are nicer than Skoda's http://www.marshallweb.co.uk/used-cars/reg/fl14zwa/?ito=LBC213868 Sorry, that might technically be a used car with zero mileage(?)
  11. Just watched the programme. I'm not sure we learned anything about any of the cars. I did laugh a couple of times (James Blunt section) but I think the earlier shows were more fun than the current series seems to be.
  12. I understand that at this time there are no plans to replace standard fuel with E10. But it is planned to offer it as an option. It would have to be cheap and I can't see that the government would want to create a huge differential. I understand that it has not been a success in Germany. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-e10-fuel-could-reduce-cars-economy-10-cent
  13. They're essential on the Octavia. I don't feel I need them on the Mii. Easiest car to park ever. However, it's probably one of those things that you don't think you need but if you have it, then you miss it if it packs up.
  14. If you are buying new, there are some good deals on the Toca special edition, which is a SE model with PID and reversing sensors. Mii owners can still post here as you can see
  15. I see what you mean - it looks like 9k will buy an i10 1.0 premium, which gives more kit than the equivalent VAG offering. If I can get myself a test drive I'll let you know how it compares. Can't see it being as good a drive but having four proper windows and a boot light should be nice.
  16. I read the test earlier. It looks a bit weird as they've reviewed the i10 against a Citigo SE but used a Citigo Sport for all the photos. So it mentions 'steel wheels and plastic trims' but the photos show lovely black alloys. It also makes a point of saying that the i10 has the biggest boot at 252 litres. And the Skoda? 251 litres. Although they've given both 5 stars, for me the skoda wins in the important areas. Faster, more economical, less depreciation. It's also quieter on the move, and has significantly better brakes.
  17. Yeah - wasn't impressed TBH. I thought it might be straightforward - I seem to remember the reset procedure was in the handbook on my old Fabia. But not on this one. Damo - thanks but I've tried that and it doesn't work.
  18. Hi The car was serviced 6 weeks ago but the garage didn't reset the insp indicator so it bongs and flashes every time I switch on. I asked the garage if they could do it and they just said they'd reset it at the next service (10 months time!) Is resetting it just a juggle of the buttons on the speedo or is it more complex than that? Anyone know?
  19. Fitted Nightbreaker plus's to the Mii last night and they are a big improvement. Also good value . Think I paid £14.20 through Amazon for the pair.
  20. That was the H7 test http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/76760/car-bulbs-2013-group-test-headlight-reviews The Osram Nightbreaker plus won the H4 test http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/64345/product-awards-2013-best-headlamp-bulbs
  21. I've thought about winter tyres. It's hard not to when the motoring press bang on about them every Autumn. I've concluded that for the amount of snow I see (Cornwall, so maybe one day each winter) and the roads I mainly travel on (A30, A38) there's no real advantage. What I will be for looking next time I change tyres is good braking performance in the wet. Every Sunday recently has been like a 60-mile drive through a waterfall.
  22. Have a look at the Auto Express test. The best winter tyres have very low rolling resistance these days. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/66645/winter-tyres-test-reviews-and-prices-2013
  23. Hankooks don't appear anything special http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Hankook/K425-Kinergy-Eco.htm I'll be replacing my Bridgestones fairly soon (down to 4mm on the front after 15k) Given a free choice, regardless of price, what would you say is the best tyre for a citigo/mii/up?
