  1. I picked up my new vRS a few days ago, where internet connection was greyed out, SOS was red I think and Skoda connect didn't work either. I left it a day or so to see if it was minor and whether OTA updates could resolve (didn't obv). Courtesy of this thread, fuses 19 and 30 were taken out for 10 minutes fixed the connectivity issues, but now I have a airbag warning light on lol!
  2. Sounds a bit frustrating, but at least the time from when you actually popped your deposit down to when you checked with Skoda wasn't too long. I picked my car up on Sunday this week and dealer said to me that autumn or longer would be estimate if ordered today, so you're experience sounds fairly similar.
  3. @Col46 if you would like updates it might be worth contacting Skoda via the online chat thing on their website, you don't even need your order number, you just need to know what you ordered, where and on what date. Depending on what extras you ordered there might be added delays.
  4. Aww man, what do you think the hold up is? BMWs and Audi's taking priority? Today is my collection day, which is pretty exciting!
  5. My order was built week 15 (around 12th April), it arrives at dealer today/tomorrow and I'm due to collect it on Sunday of this week. I did the DVLA registration thing today too. Ordered Feb 16th so might just hit the estimate of 12 weeks! It pays to have cynical mind, but you never know @sicone it might all just work out!
  6. Okay thanks @SC03OTT! It's still reads/sounds like saying something twice, like a job title or a name; it feels jarring.
  7. It being mark iV (4 in roman numeral) and iV version for the hybrid, is I think a little unhelpful; even here on a Skoda forum! For e.g. if you have the hybrid, you could say you have a Skoda Octavia iv iv: which sounds a bit odd
  8. Hey @Herschel, good choice there! Likely that the dealer is correct, as there is a supply issue with the chips required; meaning loooongg wait times. Fire in factory in Japan and bad weather in Texas at the beginning of the year. If you Google "chip shortage" you will find articles indicating all the major car manufacturers, computer manufacturers etc all reporting supply issues I know of some guys that ordered the 4x4 and just cancelled it after waiting several months, as lack of communication from Skoda UK or their dealers. If you do want a car sooner than next year, you may get lucky with a cancelled order ... or maybe if you tried ordering the FWD version?
  9. Haha, it literally looks like one of sons hotwheels toy cars!
  10. Aww man, still so close though!
  11. I think that green looks good @xman!
  12. Looks awesome! My meteor grey is sitting at Grimsby docks as of yesterday, so no way of changing my order
  13. Delivery update: my order arrived at Grimsby docks on 5th May. Might be time to check if yours was on same boat @Shelvock!
  14. Mamba green wasn't properly out at the time, so I couldn't change it (I think this may have been mid-March). I think we need more cars in vibrant colours. Whatever you choose will be the right one!
  15. Meteor grey estate hopefully here shortly. Had one previously and currently got a black pearl mk3.5 estate. Shame that meteor grey is no longer an option! I did enquire about changing my order to mamba green a couple if months ago though, but couldn't do it! (My partner hates this colour, but I like it)
  16. Yeah, it's a shame you couldn't order those items even if you wanted to. I think most of those you selected come as standard on the English spec vRS, apart from the leather option seats, net/boot thingies and I think the traffic light recognition comes with whatever pack includes the heads-up display. Exciting times though man!
  17. Nice one @SkodaCB! Which extras did you order by the way?
  18. Crazy high price!
  19. @bmoster sounds like you're one of the lucky ones man, a few months in a compound with the big plastic stickers on it isn't likely to harm the car much
  20. Yeah, I have that exact one @Jmagee so reassured by how you've got it to work. It feels like USB cables have gone up a bit in price...or am I just getting older?
  21. I've seen similar cables to those, but I think straight might tuck in easier for a stealthier fit, rather than spiralling. Ta @TheWanderer though, I've not used AliExpress in ages so will give it a go
  22. You guys may or may not be aware: how hard is it to get a current gen PlayStation or Xbox? In most markets it's tricky and it will likely be until next year. An article I shared in another thread suggested availability of consoles may have some alignment with availability of factory ordered cars
  23. Oooh I bought this 25cm in preparation, is that a bit short do you think as the one you linked is 50cm? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B078163B16/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_XNYEPFMVQPHTWTW3THHT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 EDIT: ignore, I misread @sneals post, way too short!
  24. You've come this far man! I guess unless your lease company can guarantee you a stock car, a lot of the other manufacturers are struggling too
