  1. Do you have service dates and mileages at each ?
  2. So you have 2 MOT dates with 650 miles between them In theory any car could be clocked, but if first MOT was at 14,045 then looks like initial user did less than 5000 miles per year and it fell to 650 miles in lockdown year. Unless it has been clocked twice doesn’t seem unbelievable If there was annual services, do they show the mileages, and do they go up at about 4700 miles per year pre lockdown. But why someone chose a diesel for 4700 miles per year is a mystery. EDIT just checked the MOT checker, and worn and slightly perishing front tyres suggests they are the originals which is consistent with a 15k miles car
  3. There are various stages, an once accepted by the factory orders lock (from memory about 3 weeks before). The status will depend on numeric code indicating progress. Has this email come from dealer, Skoda uk, or the factory. Not totally clear what factory status is, and if it can’t be altered, or if it could and dealership can’t be bothered. It is also not clear why you want to add them in middle of Easter weekend and haven’t done so a week or so ago. Not sure about the Octavia mk4 but it used to be possible on earlier versions to add the variable floor as an accessory.
  4. If you try and lift the airbag by sliding something under the rim, will potentially leave marks on the dashboard around it, but that is slightly easier to move it that way. Once it is up about 5mm it sort of un-wedges and comes out easily. You can also push it up from underneath, and even sort of lever it upwards with a big screwdriver or flat side of large wood chisel. You need to lever it from the back edge of the lower glovebox. Or use a combination of both methods to initially wriggle it loose
  5. The parking light setting is also controlled by the indicator stalk. If you use that setting, and put the indicator to left or right, it will illuminate a light on that side when car is off. Effectively a marker light for use if you park on the carriageway on an unlit road or lane.
  6. I would avoid a 2018 1.5 as others have said, those early 1.5s had some problems. If the SEL has 18 inch wheels, you will find the tyres are a rarer (and thus expensive) size, and potentially front pair may be fairly worn. All three of them have done 5-7k miles per year, so should be on fixed servicing, so check the service record is consistent and nothing is missed. May as well request a service is done (as part of the sales deal) if one is due in next few weeks. You mentioned a few hills in your initial post, so seriously consider putting a note in your calendar for August to get some seasonal tyres, as the factory fit modern summer tyres are rubbish in cold weather and cold rain (and useless in snow). Don’t leave it until autumn as price jumps.
  7. I suspect the SE spec has more equipment than your 11 year old Fabia, and SEL will have even more. But you won’t really miss what you have never had. If you keep your car to 11 years old, then another way of looking at it, is that the extra equipment is more to break down, and possibly needing costly repair in few years time. I am guessing the 1 litre is the 115 engine, if it is, I suspect you will find it is much better than you expect. More than sufficient for the type of driving you indicate. If it was me, get the 1 year old car
  8. Changing the tyre profile will not really affect body roll much The body is moving on the suspension tyre wall deflection will be fairly minor part of the movement Which engine do you have, the lower power versions usually have smaller anti roll bars, as those who choose lower power engines don’t normally choose to drive like a race car Of course, if you chose the combi, then drive it with no load, the rear suspension is fairly unweighted
  9. Perhaps a comparison with the MY17 spec when it was launched in 2016 would be useful. I think the range initially ran from £21,495 (1.4tsi S spec) to £34,895 (4x4 Edition), or using RPI to convert to todays money £23,980 to £38,925 The MY21 range is from £26,630 to £42,175, so went up about 21% (or about 11% over inflation) I’ll leave it to others to decide if it is a 11% better car to justify the 11% increase above inflation
  10. I have just looked at our Roomster, and I think if you are turning a corner and braking (so front is lower), a 4cm bigger diameter is likely to hit the bodywork. You are correct the Goodyear efficientgrip performance 2 is a very good summer tyre. But it isn’t an all year tyre, and I question if it best choice on a 1.9diesel roomster. It is still going to be fairly hard and stiff in colder weather (below about +10c). Since introducing all season tyres into the range the new summer tyres seem optimised for temperatures of 20-25c (rather more than day and night average in Wales). Remember summer tyre test results are normally based on the WLTP test temperature of +23c. The test will not tell you what they are like on a cool day, or if they grip in cold rain. I would have improved the ride by going for a softer all season tyre, probably the Continental all season contact (the Goodyear vector 4 season is only generation 2, not generation 3 in size 195/55 R15). If you want a cheaper tyre the Maxxis all season AP3 seems to do well, and probably only cheaper one I would suggest (I don’t really like recommending non premium tyres)
  11. How does the my Skoda app offer this, when I added my car (it used VIN number) showed the car type and then only offered 2 things : trip report; my service partner (which seems to be a list of dealers) Neither of which seem useful as I am unlikely to log lots of local journeys, and I know where nearest dealer is. Can’t see any service history though. App Seems useless to me, but perhaps that is all is does with 2012 cars
  12. When you speak to them, get it printed, or them to send an email with it attached so you can print it. I would also enquire if there are any outstanding recalls or service campaigns. Apart from anything else, you will have forgotten by time the next service is due and personally I prefer to know what was done last time before booking it in for next service.
  13. I don’t think it is designed to do that, if it is dark enough to need the instruments illuminated, it will be dark outside as well so you need dipped headlights Not sure why anyone would want to drive in dark without headlights on
  14. Skoda are being very cautious, if you are putting in furniture weight would probably be fairly well spread, and near the side rails which are solidly supported. However I wouldn’t recommend a smallish heavy solid object (like a solid stone garden ornament) being dropped onto middle of deck. If you want the usefulness of being able to slide things in, and you are worried, could always go to local diy store and buy a lump of underfloor expanded polystyrene to support it. Easy to remove if you want to use the space. The lower floor has a bit of polystyrene over spare wheel so same principle
  15. Skoda have updated the website, now says electric car grant only available on Enyaq 60 Nav, Loft, Lodge
  16. Possible reasons & speculation
  17. Actually you are in a very strong position legally, as the car is not as advertised If it was advertised with a picture of a towbar included, then that is part of the sales advert Therefore I think you can do rather better than £250 I suggest you point this out to the dealer and suggest he changes his compensation 3 fold to nearer £750 You don't need to feel charitable towards the dealer, if seller misled him, they can sue seller to recover the £750 A properly fitted, fully coded towbar is likely to be nearer £600 (or more), so don't settle for less than £600
  18. It is not just the main assembly factory you need to consider As an example suppose a factory making a particular engine size, or another component used in some cars has a closure, then might still be building some cars, but not certain models or specs. Unlikely to affect next few days assembly, but there could be components due to be used in April that are in a container, which is now stuck in Suez, if that goes on, could heavily affect production in few weeks time. You also have to consider possible problems in Germany (Emden etc), could slow delivery once built
  19. Much more interesting that battleship grey (officially meteor grey)
  20. It varies by lease company, and any deals you might have taken. I have seen a company one that required 50% for each month early, but early repayment rates vary. Recently most lease companies have been doing unadvertised extensions if you ask, for simple reason don’t really want them back when secondhand market is virtually closed and no one is buying. I heard that a few thousand ex-lease cars have been parked at Rockingham, Northants. There are probably other locations too. So I suspect they won’t be very generous, (and of course you won’t be only one with reduced mileage), although they might allow you to buy your vehicle, or extend end date for same mileage. But ultimately you entered the deal and took a punt on your mileage, and the lease Co aimed to make money based on this. So both sides are trying to maintain the financial advantage. Sorry there is not going to be some free get of jail card for the tens of thousands in same position, so negotiate best outcome you can.
  21. @Tonyfly Probably a faulty gearbox control unit, the mechatronics On a 2015 car shouldn’t suffer from wrong oil fusing the circuits I would suggest calling an auto transmission specialist, as it isn’t a DIY job to fix it. A Skoda dealer would probably charge lot more to do it Depending on what it is, what needs replacing, and how much disassembly to fix it is hard to guess. Hopefully none of the actual gears inside need any repair, but part of actuation system might.
  22. The Skoda annual results show table of sales Octavia 257,400 (25.6%) Karoq 137,200 (13.7%) Kodiaq 131,600 (13.1%) Kamiq 128,500 (12.8%) Fabia 105,500 (10.5%) Superb 86,200 (8.6%) Rapid 79,600 (7.9%) Scala 63,200 (6.3%) Citigo 15,000 (1.5%) Enyaq iv 600 (0.06%) https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-releases/skoda-auto-looks-back-on-a-successful-2020-despite-the-coronavirus-pandemic/
  23. SurreyJohn replied to vrskeith's topic in Skoda Enyaq
Confirmed today will be a Coupe version of Enyaq by end of year https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/skoda-world/live-skoda-annual-press-conference/
  24. Now confirmed as being officially launched in May 2021 https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/skoda-world/live-skoda-annual-press-conference/ Also confirmed will be a combi (estate) version
  25. If works fine in a different socket, then previous owner probably damaged the socket with some badly fitting cheap cables that were plugged in carelessly If you are happy to leave cable plugged in another socket that wasn’t being used then just carry on. If not then going to have to get a replacement USB socket fitted
