the sport kit changed somewhere around the 06 to include 3 spoke vrs steering wheel, vrs seats(in grey cloth) and sport badges on the side. Mine for example is half and half - has the badges but not the seats or steering wheel. So what you get over the ambient is esp, sport bodykit which is slightly different to vrs, sport kick plates, leather gear kn0b and handbrake plus 17inch alloys, sport suspension, exhaust trim. The only thing that is a little odd is the silver surround on the radio - don't think thats standard....and the vrs spoiler which are probably pretty good mods.... good price but high miles,

Octavia Sport really an Ambiente?
shorty replied to DSGboy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
thought the latest sport models had sport seats (like vrs but without the leather) and the VRS steering wheel too - mine doesn't as it was just before the change but I've seen some with... also sport has vrs 'like' body kit, chrome double exhaust trim and sport kick plates and badges - I reckon it does at least look more like a VRS than ambient...but I would say that -
I got a Britax Duo Plus from Kiddicare.com excellent price and service. Not used it yet though so can't comment on that, we're waiting till the little one can sit up unaided for long periods. Apparantly all the safety advice I've heard says leave them as long as possible in the rear facing seats....

if like me you're more respondant to price and not too fussy about colour and options I found shopping around the dealers got me a pre-reg tdi sport (with 12 miles on the clock) saving me 25% off the list price....

Looking at a Octy Sport Tonight Advice Please
shorty replied to T-1000's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
excellent choice - seems like a good price too. I've had no problems with mine after nearly 10k - the only thing is a very slightly juddery clutch which I'm monitoring..... -
Not had it in yet. Have done 7500 miles now and better than it was, in fact most of the time you don't notice it - only when standing in traffic and even then it's not too bad. I'm also a bit worried that if they stick a new clutch in that I'll end up with worse problems. I might just wait til the first service and mention it then. and a good choice on the vrs Josh.....if I'd had the cash theres where it would have gone.

Octavia Elegance or Sport Help!
shorty replied to peebeeuk's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I went for the sport mainly as I liked the looks, the handling and the price was very good - there were some really good deals on the sport models when I was looking. -

shorty replied to clv101's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
baby forced sale - got myself a new octy 2 sport tdi140 which is great -
New Octavia - sports suspension - worth the extra?
shorty replied to StuartA's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I like the sports suspension. Handling is much improved over the standard and the wheels look great too - the trade off in comfort doesn't bother me. -
think mine must be a C as well. Just got my renewal at 110 quid a year - thats cheaper than the wifes fiesta:)
-
know what you mean about reading the dipstick being tricky, mine seems to have a coating of oil all the way up it... I eventually managed to make out the line and had to top up with 1/2 a litre.

looks really nice Rob.

that looks well....superb:) I'll get my coat.

I like the red too

Fab vRS to Octy 2.0FSI Sport?
shorty replied to CTR2FABvRS's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Glad you like it. Upto 1,600 miles in mine now. Had a trip to the lakes at the weekend and was so impressed with how it cruises, and the handling round the back country lanes really is very good -
v nice, think the pegasus alloys look good on the estate

Octavia 2.0 Tdi Sport - good choice?
shorty replied to pete275's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
getting mid to high 40's on mine (indicated) for the daily commute. Longer cruises are 50+ - its improving all the time too (1200 miles covered so far). -
Fab vRS to Octy 2.0FSI Sport?
shorty replied to CTR2FABvRS's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
congrats and a good choice of colour, black does look good but red its loads easier to keep clean! I think you'll definitely appreciate the space and the body kit looks good too, sets it apart from the other octys imho. Am looking forward to hearing what you think of the engine too as compared to the fabia, oh and post some piccies when you get it... Looks like the octy II sport club is growing:thumbup: -
Fab vRS to Octy 2.0FSI Sport?
shorty replied to CTR2FABvRS's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
motorpoint had some excellent deals on the 2.0fsi sport when I was buying mine - something around 10-11k iirc although they may have been imports. Its definately worth shopping around though as there are some good deals on the sports.... I was after the tdi and got over 4k off list for a pre reg 06 one with 12 miles on it. Good luck. -
looks good - especially like the silver surround

Fab vRS to Octy 2.0FSI Sport?
shorty replied to CTR2FABvRS's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I was in a simialar situation a couple of weeks ago.... I had a fab vrs, got a baby, bought an octy sport tdi. Had the octy a couple of weeks now. So far I'm happy with the ride, though I think if you want more comfort than the fabia vrs it may not be for you. I was happy with the comfort of the vrs suspension and the octy sport is similar if a maybe a little bit tougher IMO though I wonder if this is more down to the 17s and low profile tyres. When cruising the octy is smoother than the fab vrs and quieter but you do feel the bumps on uneven roads. That said our baby has been fine, sleeps through no problem and I've had no complaints from back seat passengers though I never did with the fabia. That aside the octy has been a great choice - the boot is simply huge and loads more space in the back for the little one and passengers. As mentioned earlier the safety list is a little better too with side airbags and ESP. -
very nice - think the race blue looks great on the estate too.
-
surprised cruise control is so highly rated - personally if I was choosing I'd take the 18s, Dual Zone, Race Blue and parking sensors for the wife... Just read the rest of the thread - enjoy the superb when you get it. I think the 2.0tdi is a wise choice but then I would wouldn't I
