You are using the wrong oil and wearing parts of your engine prematurely. As Xav said, you need 505.01 or 506.01 spec oil which is made for the VW PD engines. You should get an oil and filter change pretty quickly. Sorry for the bad news :(

Fabia Power Steering......
vrsfab replied to Auric Goldfinger's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Yes it can. It's just needs an adjustment with VAGCOM to turn down the level of assistance from the electric pump in the power steering. -
Just replaced temp sender, still problems
vrsfab replied to TimAce's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
It sounds more like the thermostat is jammed open to me. Change that and all should be well. -
Mine arrived last night. Could sum it up in three words really - "Bag of sh*te". Crappy little pics and any remotely tricky interior removal is just glossed over. Not a patch on what they were a few years ago.

If you've had a wheel alignment read this

Seems to be for ESP equipped cars only. -
My vote goes to the Garmin Nuvi 300. Great price, easy to use, 7 digit postcode, camera database available and generally just a quality piece of kit. Tomtom's are also pretty good. I would steer away from Navman and cheaper unbranded stuff, they seem to lack good routing logic somehow.

It gives the correct torque setting in the owners handbook, somewhere near the "changing a wheel" section

I think it's the cooling fan temp switch that leaks. It's also screwed into the radiator.

Thats the one

I have been 10 miles after 0 on the counter. You should be fine, but try to drive in an economical manner . All the usuall disclaimers apply if you do end up pushing though

I'd ask Jabba if they can do the ARB and a set of Eibach springs when you get your remap. It would be a great deal if you could get both for

Help! Fabia VRS clutch replacement
vrsfab replied to Cheekymonkey's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Try one of the site sponsors. They will be able to get you something a bit better suited to the remap for less than your first quote. Jabba jumps to mind, but they're all good and will probably give you a much more honest opinion on the condition of your dual mass when they get in there. -
Sounds like a good price. There's

Warranty will cover it Loz. It sounds like the rear ancillary covers again. You'll probably be able to get the carpets changed aswell if they're going mouldy.

Any pics Steve?

You can get a much shorter OEM look aerial from your Vauxhall dealer. I think its off the Meriva and is about 3-4" shorter. You will need to trim the base of it with a blade, but it's easy. Mine now easily clears the garage door.

Am I likely to have done much damage?
vrsfab replied to Emily-Elizabeth's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
You can undo the filler neck and fit the cap straight into the rocker cover. I think Devonutopia has done it on the mongrel -
Where's the last race Bill?

You could order from Oilman on the forum. He should still be able to get it to you tomorrow. Don't take a chance on these service centres, they probably don't have a clue on oil for PD motors.

It's definately not 505.01 HTH:)

We have one of the best off road tracks in the country at J28 on the M1. We should at least organise a meet around one of the race days.

I can't believe you'd take your GF RC racing . In my experience the two do not mix.
