  1. I think you'll need to send them a letter clearly stating "Notice Before Action" to give them 14 days to settle before starting the small claims action.
  2. Thanks for this, it's just prompted me to do it and it has worked for me Please don't ask me to share the files. PocketGPSWorld track any sharing and I don't want to loose my subscription. Here is what I did... Downloaded the files from PocketGPSWorld: You last downloaded... Garmin POILoader [uK - Consolidated By Type (Gatso,Mobile, etc) | pMobiles: No | French: No | Swiss: No ] (14.061 - 01 Jun 16) I then added these to the VW online tool (http://www.volkswagen.de/de/navigation/discover-pro/poi-listen-sammlung.html): Make sure that 'Bei Annäherung an diese POIs informieren' is ticked. Then click on 'Jetzt laden' After adding all four files the screen looked like this: Click on 'POI-Sammlung sichern' Enter a name for the file you will download and click on 'Jetzt sichern' The last step in the online tool is to click 'Weiter'. This will then download the zip file to your PC. You then need to unzip this to a USB stick ready to load into the car (I used WinRAR) Lastly in the car, you need to import the POI's. Do this by inserting the USB stick, and going to: Nav > Setup > Manage Memmory > Update POIs I then set the POIs to display on the Nav screen: Nav > Setup > Map > Show POIs and selected Gatso, Mobile, Redlight and Specs (These are the categories I added to the POI database created earlier) Lastly I made sure the announcements were on: Nav > Setup > Nav Announcements > Note "My POIs" Hopefully this will help someone.
  3. I went from a 2013 CDTi Insignia SE Nav to a new TDi VRS. Spec wise the VRS is better. The seats are much more comfortable, and it has Xenons, parking sensors, bluetooth and Start Stop as standard which my insignia didn't. I fitted parking sensors and had the OEM bluetooth retrofitted. The Amundsen sat nav is much better than the Navi 600. The touch screen works really well and the DAB radio is miles ahead. Some people complain about it but i'm happy with it, and last week a friend who has an Audi S5 with a Bose sound system asked where the sub woofer was! Although the Octavia is slightly shorter overall there is more leg room and the boot is longer, wider and deeper. We went camping during half term so tested this out! Initially I experienced the booming and pressure issues others have mentioned but now I've driven about 4,000 miles its not noticeable any more. I do quite a lot of small trips around town with 20 mile trips 2-3 times a week. I'm currently averaging 43mpg which is slightly higher than the insignia, and I expect it to improve as the newness wears off. Overall the Octavia seems like a much better car, and I've not regretted the change at all.
  4. Showing as available for my VIN too, thanks Direct link is http://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.com/base/downloaders/STD2_0635_EU_1_2016_2017/Downloader.exe?ver=636006251797169461&extension=.exe
  5. I've removed the Skoda and Octavia but left the VRS. Looks much less cluttered now.
  6. I've had my VRS for almost 3 months now and have to say I'm fairly impressed with the standard Amundsen sound system. I was a little worried about the comments from everyone saying it's poor and the Canton isn't that much better, but having adjusted the settings to my liking I'm really happy with the quality. Last week we went away with some friends and I was asked 'Where's the sub woofer?' because the sound was so good. The friend who asked drives an Audi S5 with the Bose sound system so is used to very good sound in the car. The lack of CD player takes some getting used to, but the Bluetooth streaming, USB and SD card more than make up
  7. I've not had issues on my vRS but my last car (Insignia) had the gear linkage replaced twice because with similar issues.
  8. Has this been reported on any non UK spec VRS TDI's yet? If it's a "factory decision" surely it should effect all cars but I can't recall any non UK cars being effected?
  9. So either he's talking through his a**e or there are more changes to the 2016 model's running gear than just smaller brakes? If the axles can't take the bigger disks then have they been made weaker? have the drive shafts been altered too?
  10. Something I've just noticed (after following a link on another tread) is Skoda offer fixed price clutch replacement for £539 - http://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/service-and-maintenance/simply-fixed/default/ It may be worth querying this as you may be able to get some money back regardless?
  11. If you only have £1900 left to pay it may be worth checking your finance docs to see if you are able to VT your current PCP.
  12. I bought a cheap ice hockey puck from ebay and used a router to put a groove down the middle.
  13. There is lots of discussion about tyres on the 'Boom' thread. IIRC the general view is the tyres are bought and fitted in batches, so the OEM tyre can change depending build date.
  14. I agree with the above, It's unlikely the dealer will do anything at all. I follow a few Detailers on Instagram and sadly it's not unusual for there to be surface corrosion on calipers and hubs after six months. In a lot of cases they are painted with hammerite to improve the appearance.
  15. My 16 plate TDi VRS was fromdealer stock, and from what I can tell was it was built November 2015. I measured the front disk thickness at 30mm so based on a previous post I think these will be the 340mm disks. On the plus side, when cleaning the wheels with the 340's my large wheel woolie is a tight fit, so I imagine it will be much easier with the 312's.
  16. It confused me at first, you have to turn the ignition on, then off, then hold the wiper stalk for 3 seconds and the wipers will move up the screen so you can fold them back to clean the screen.
  17. I feel your pain! I've had my VRS for 5 weeks and noticed tonight I've managed to kerb the front drivers side wheel since last Sunday. Thing is I honestly dont know how or when I did it :(
  18. I'm using a 16GB PNY one I got in a twin pack for my camera a few years ago without any problems. In terms of format I've just copied music from my iTunes library onto the card and it's all played apart from some really old stuff that's protected. I had a couple of minor issues though, some albums needed the artwork adding manually - I did this using Windows Media Player, and some albums with multiple CD's would play all track 1's, then all track 2's etc. It seemed like the Amundsen was using the filename rather than the ID3 track number tag, so I renamed the files.
  19. I'm glad I got mine in March too... If you choose the Estate in the Finance Calculator it's listed with the same deposit contribution and 2.9%
  20. That would be good, I'm tempted to do mine as it sounds fairly simple but without instructions I'm nervous!
  21. This was never really an option for me as I don't have access to any Android devices, but I had a feeling this may be something like you've described. My last few cars have been Vauxhall's and the main diagnostic tools were Vauxcom and Opcom. Vaux-com cost around £700, Op-com was available for less than £50. There were quite a few stories of Op-com not doing what it's told, and a few ECUs that had to be swapped because they were trashed. Used correctly I'm sure it's fine, but when I wanted stuff programing I took it to someone who had the official Vaux-com. Personally if I need anything programing on my VRS I'll be in-touch with someone who has VCDS rather than buying OBDEleven.
  22. Yea the Nav button is top right. Here's a link to a manual, not sure is its the latest revision or not... http://ws.skoda-auto.com/OwnersManualService/Data/en/Octavia_5E/05-2014/Navigation/Amundsen/A7_Octavia_Amundsen_InfotainmentNavigation.pdf But it should give you the general idea
