  1. When I bought mine I didn't have a huge deposit, and I had some negative equity from my old car so I know I'll struggle to change early without taking more negative equity with me. Currently would be around 3k. I know I'd get more from a private sale but am not in any rush to change so will wait it out.
  2. I’m in a similar situation. I’m 2 years into a 42 month PCP on a tdi VRS. I’ve already conceded the next one will be petrol partly because my mileage has dropped massively, and partly because I can see taxes changing on Diesels. For the last few weeks we’ve not been able to factory order the TSI VRS, although the indications coming from the geneva motorshow are orders will start again over the summer for a higher PS car. It’s very much wait and see really, current plan is to order november/december time.
  3. I think it’s remote controlled to you can warm the car without starting the engine
  4. Im not sure, I would expect to see a big jump when the Q4 figures are added in.

  6. Looks like they are all going to be 245's
  7. I was told the standard will be 248 and there will be a 270+ on the way. Order books are likely to open again over the summer. Possibly when they make the change to MY19?
  8. I’ll be doing the same thing once they open factory orders up again.
  9. I’ve just had an appointment at my local dealer during their ‘platinum event’. Currently got a TDI VRS and was thinking of changing to a 230. Seems like lots of people are doing the same thing! I booked before the production stopped, so I’m sticking with the TDI for now. Anyway, they said there aren’t many left in stock, but they have heard rumours that when orders open again over the summer the standard VRS will have a 248bhp engine, and the performance one will have 270bhp. Apparenty Seat are splitting Cupra off as a seperate brand like Citroen did with DS and Skoda will be able to use the more powerful engines. Someone in Milton Keynes has apparently said ‘when the 300bhp engine goes in the Octavia VRS it will be awesome’. Not sure how much truth there is to any of this!
  10. I think my next one will be petrol for a few reasons, one being the change in general opinion since dieselgate.
  11. If they have a VRS with the right wheels in the showroom or as a demonstrator why not ask them to swap them over? Worst they can say is no.
  12. Thanks guys, it's not showing for my VIN yet but I'm downloading using the links above
  13. The picture above shows the estate roof bars perfectly. They are roughly 5 to 7 centimetres in from the edge of the roof. The hatch mounting feet wrap under the door shuts so the bars need to be wider. I have the 969's for my VRS hatch and they fit well with a small overhang. I would have thought the 961's would give a much cleaner look on the estate because the overhang isn't as much.
  14. Mist dealers will have a standard diagnostic fee for anything outside warranty. Quite often with any extended warranty you have to pay the diagnostic fee too. £100 plus VAT does seem a bit expensive though.
  15. It's called comfort closing and it is anoying! With my last car i ended up with windows open in the rain a few times :( Fortunately on the Octavia at xan be disabled from the infotainment unit easily enough.
  16. I've not been through the VT or termination process, but surely anything covered by warranty that's been reported would be fine? The wheels I'm not sure about. Either price seems reasonable considering the VRS wheels are diamond cut.
  17. The bridgestones don't have much protection in any case...
  18. It seems like this is becoming quite common now. I've read about Mercedes doing something similar on Money saving expert (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5604150)
  19. Depending on where the car is there may be a member who can take a quick look around the car for you?
  20. 11.4 in my contracts says... If this Agreement terminates early, we will reduce the Maximum Total Mileage in the proportion which the actual period of hire bears to the period of the hire originally agreed. Any Excess Mileage Charge will be recalculated using that reduced Maximum Total Mileage However page 1 of the contract talks about VT, and says... ...If you have already paid at least this amount plus any overdue installments and have taken reasonable care of the goods, you will not have to pay any more. Hopefully it's someone who doesn't understand the legal rights to VT...
  21. Have you checked what your contract actually says? The excess they are quoting might only apply if handing back rather than VTing.
  22. Check out Polished Bliss. They have. 3 for 2 running on Auto Finesse products, including the kits. For a light car look at Tough Coat, for darker cars look at the waxes such as Temptation.
